I don't really have a set strategy. Each league is different and dependent on what others do and what's available. In my 1977 draft, there were 11 starting pitchers drafted before I took my first one. (Apparently, njbigwig wasn't happy that I kept waiting on SP so he drafted 5 SP's (1400 innings) before taking his first hitter (which happened to be Garry Templeton .322 / .337 / .442, C/B+).

This is my 5th or 6th quick draft league. In every one, the pitching has, for the most part, sucked. The very very top end pitchers do well but the rest mainly stink. That's why I've been drafting hitters. We'll see how it works out in this league.
