" Most of this list is too deep for me. But some thoughts:

--I love kung fu moves; the Ip Man and Raid series are both very good (but very different). Haven't seen the rest, I don't think. Robusk, do you like any Jackie Chan kung fu movies? Police Story, Drunken Master 1/2, Rumble in the Bronx, etc? I'm a big fan of those. (One of his more recent films, The Foreigner, is also excellent, but is nowhere close to a kung fu movie.)

--Never understood why Logan Lucky didn't get more love. Soderbergh, great cast, good reviews, but for whatever recent it just didn't generate much momentum (or revenue). I loved it. Another Heist movie I liked was Baby Driver, though it was a little too cutesy sometimes.

--Speaking of Ip Man - I know you said no space movies but you should watch Rogue One, one of the more recent Star Wars movies. Not part of the main sequences of trilogies, but takes place leading up to the original Star Wars (Episode 4). Good cast featuring Ip Man's own Donnie Yen. "

I do like Jackie Chan movies and he is a phenomenal acrobat and choreographer. They remind me more of Stephen Chow movies in that they can get silly. The Foreigner was good. I think tons of the best fighting movies are coming out of Korea these days.

I love Soderbergh and if you never watched The Knick, I recommend it.

I have seen all the Star Wars movies because I like to stay current in pop culture. Rogue One was indeed the best I have seen. Episodes 4 - 6 are by far my least favorite which annoys everyone.

Oh yeah, Baby Driver was a great premise and great soundtrack. BUT NOT ENOUGH DRIVING!

The point I didn't want to make in re: cmcafeeky is that it is a real bad take to say you are boycotting a black voice because you don't want to hear their take on the matter or because they call out white people for misrepresenting the black struggle.

Amplify BIPOC voices on the matter every way you can.

I think my favorite part of Baby Driver was the soundtrack. I don't remember the plot anymore, aside from my positive reaction to it.

Drive was really good. Has more in common with Bullitt/The French Connection than Fast & Furious.

I really liked Drive the first time I saw it, but I watched a few Nicolas Winding Refn movies since and they are so bad. They are just lighting or shtick porn and so lacking on substance. It kind of ruined Drive for me. He can truly ruin a great premise or screenplay.

While waiting on mikee to pick, I fired up my old nba 2k11 fantasy draft with the greatest teams of all time (as of summer of 2010 lol) association and decided to play a game.

Durant had 14 after the 1st, 32 at halftime, and 55 after 3. He caught fire and I just kept pouring it on in the 4th. Never even came close to that before in a game.

After finishing the game, I went to go ahead and finish simming the season. The old 360 froze on up on me after 3 games, so back to collecting dust, I guess!

I'm not boycotting him because I don't want to hear his 'voice'
Ive seen most of his films - aside from Chi Raq and BlacKKlansman

I think he is a jackass -
He is a jackass on MANY fronts -
For me to forward such an opinion
should NOT be grounds for you to take this in any direction other than "hes a jackass"
Jamie Foxx thinks he is a jack *** - Quentin Tarantion thinks he is a jackass....
its a growing list -

I think I spelled out in detail WHY I don't care for him ,
and I'm certain it has nothing to do with MY being against a cause or a belief -

My publicly admitting to not liking Spike Lee should not be equated to being intolerant
nor should my not agreeing with his Oscar boycott - or his unjust criticism of Eastwood

I think maybe your looking for something that isn't there

I had read the Pennsylvania rants you alluded to,
and for you to paint me with the same brush is insulting.

computer generated guys. This is like 9 or 10 years into the franchise mode... only KD, CP3, and a really, really, old Rodman are real players on the team.

So far your list of beefs consist of:
1) calling out specific white people for being ******
2) liking the Knicks

Your criteria for beef are looking suspect af my dude.

First, I don't like Spike Lee - I think that has been established
and I'm not apologetic about that.
In fact, I'm not apologetic for anything I've written.

My intent was to answer why I didn't watch one of his films -
and I think I did a very good job on that.

It was never my intention to compile what you call "my list of beefs"

It wasn't hard for me to grab a quote to debunk you prescribed take
that Spike Lee was somehow justified in
'calling out white people for being ******* "
for why people (more than myself) don't like Spike Lee.

quote attributed to Jammie Foxx: (he is an Oscar winning actor - comedian - etc. and a proud African American)
“The question for me is: where’s Spike Lee coming from?” he said. “He didn’t like Whoopi Goldberg, he doesn’t like Tyler Perry, he doesn’t like anybody, I think he’s sort of run his course. I mean, I respect Spike, he’s a fantastic director. But he gets a little shady when he’s taking shots at his colleagues without looking at the work. To me, that’s irresponsible.”

I dont know the back story of Spike Lee and Whoppi Goldberg - but the Foxx quote infers there is a problem.
(and it doesn't seem reserved to 'calling out white people for being ********'" as you put it.)

Foxx goes on to comment: "he doesn’t like Tyler Perry"
(and again, the Spike Lee beef thing doesn't seem to be limited to: 'calling out white people for being ********'" as you put it)

Foxx contines: "He doesnt like anybody"
Im not sure about all of the back story involving Spike Lee, and how much Foxx knows about all of that, surely more than I know but again, it looks like Foxx is insinuating there is more than
what you prescribe as 'calling out white people for being ********'"

Foxx goes further: "I think he’s sort of run his course."
While I don't want to speak for Foxx true intention with this statement,
I tend to think that it refers to Spike Lee droning on and on about things to the point that Foxx doesn't pay attention to him.

And, I dont know that I agree that Clint Eastwood or Quentin Tarentin are best described as white people for being ********'"
I tend to think Foxx may be onto something when he rrefered to SPike Lee as "Shady"

beef #2: liking the Knicks -
well, there is hardly anything wrong with me NOT liking Knicks fans - right?
