But is it better to pick 11th in the "easier" NL or pick 6th in the AL?

Definitely 11th in the "easier" conference:
  • At 120M there are multiple ways to win / lots of good player choices
  • Less likely the people picking before me will take the players I want
  • Less necessary for me to have the optimal team

At 11 you also know who is going to be available to fill out your roster (minus the 4 guys taken 12th)... It makes it easier to optimize your 4 picks.
