Pitching staff in hitters parks: Coors/Baker Bowl Topic

I've come back on a limited basis after a 2-3 year hiatus. Everything that I used to remember about this game has been pushed out of my brain in favor of the other things that consume my life now. I'm looking at building an open league team in either Coors or Baker Bowl. in each of those parks, what kind of characteristics would I be looking at for best success? And how many IP should I draft for those obvious hitters parks? I'm shooting for about $44mil for a pitching staff. Your insight is appreciated.

Coors: +3 +3 +3 +4 +4 1.37

Baker Bowl: 0 +4 +1 +2 +1 1.14

Baker Bowl is easy on pitchers compared to Coors. The neutral singles modifier is far different from that +3. All you need to do is limit XBH. You can get by with an extra 50-75 innings over a neutral overall park. You might even get away with spending no more than half of your allotted cash...

Coors I would go bigger on pitching, then perhaps just look for affordable offensive production.

Thanks for the insight. As far as extra base hits are concerned, what stats lines should I be looking at? I really don't remember much of anything. haha...

For that I want low HR/9 and low OAV. I would be hoping to get deadballers, they've got a built in advantage on the XBH.

Good defense would give you the option to take a bit less on quality and innings. I think strong up the middle applies here, just like in the Show...

Thank you sir. Some of this sounds vaguely familiar...

It’s a small modifier, but ERA has a slight affect on XBH as well.

I agree on the baker bowl/Coors comparison- the +3 hit has a huge impact between the two stadiums. I

Does a park that is under 1.00 result in the need for fewer IPs, or does that get cancelled out because the lower scoring results in more extra inning games?

Yes, fewer indeed. Some of these daredevils go with less than 1,200, especially with access to AAA and the ability to trade for such. Scrubs and their ability to acquire them can be a formidable weapon. Even the marginally inept pitchers have value. If you can pull off a few trades, you can save money on drafting pitchers.

Things that influence how much pitching you need:
  • Quality of your pitchers
  • Quality of opposing hitters
  • Parks you play in
  • Defense and Range of your team
Using Coors will increase the amount of pitching you need, but if you pay for higher quality pitching and defense, this increase is very minimal.

As it has turned out, about 62 games into the season my good pitching, good defense, low-scoring team in a pitcher's park has pitched 18 more innings than the average team in the league. We are the runaway leader in innings pitched. Could be a coincidence.

It's old, but still fairly accurate:

Innings you need to pitch unfatigued in parks:

1125 (-3 singles)
1150 (-2 singles)
1175 (-1singles)
1200 (neutral)
1225 (+1 singles)
1250 (+2 singles)
1275 (+3 singles)

Without... geared towards $80m. But the IP needed at different caps doesn’t increase/decrease as much as most assume either.

I usually add around 25ip/$10m. At $120m I’ll take 1360-1420
