This twist league progresses through the seasons, starting in 1969. We use the top 24 teams each season, dropping all other teams. Divisions are aligned by winning % the teams actually had in 2008, (tie breaker is alphabetical by city name).
Its possible that the teams left out, may actually be a better "twist" team than those included, but as always, it is the "Luck of the Draw", so you will play with whatever you get and LIKE IT!
With this alignment, even the weaker teams have a shot at the playoffs, and we all know anything can happen in the playoffs.
Once we are full, I'll use the last 2 digits of each owners rating to give out the teams. The lowest number gets the team with the highest winning %. I f there is a tie, I'll use the 3rd digit to break the tie with the lowest number getting the best team. Each year we will get different teams using this method.
This is a standard twist league, which means you can use anyone who played for your team that season according to baseballreference.com.
Use any season of any eligible player as long as he made at least one appearance for your team that year.
The 2007 World Series winner will become the Commish for the 2009 season, we generally get things started around the 120-140 game mark of the current season. Likewise, the winner of the 2008 season, will become the new Commish for the 2010 season.
Returning owners get 1st priority for teams. We need at least one new owner for this season, and if interested we can add you to a waitlist for future seasons if we're full.
