FYI. The Jacksonville Negro League team was named the Red Caps. They moved to Chicago and were known as the Bears from 1939-41 and then moved back to Jacksonville.

cnlbr.org was my source. It listed 50+ players from various Negro Leagues, the Negro League team, the MLB team and their debut year (not always WIS)) eligible. Only one player from Jacksonville is listed. He played. For the JACKSONVILLE EAGLES and made his MLB debut in 1961.

You are correct. Jacksonville was only in the actual Negro Leagues for 3 or 4 years (not counting 3 years as Chicago Bears). Then they were mostly an independent negro team.
