My statement on Lostinfound74 Topic

I'll take that back - you've done better over the past hour. Still a bit of a feeble early response to fascism.

Obviously this in not a chat forum, but a clique. My only mistake was entering it in the first place. As for us 'dumb Canadians'; have any of you ever wondered why the crime rate in Canada is about a tenth of what it is in the US?

Let me take a wild stab at this.

1. Less population density.
2. Less differential in income and living conditions. (Socialism?)
3. Way less guns.
4. Less racism and less racist history.
5. A (generally) higher educated and calmer cultural personality.
6. In the Western Provinces almost ALL the ignoramuses and neer-do-wells are in the cities, like Vancouver. Places like Kamloops and Vernon are prosperous and great places to raise families----------just like the rural west of the USA. Folks get along and generally don't shoot OR SHOUT at each other there.
7. Canadians don't have heroes who were bandits like we do. No Jesse James, etc.
8. Canucks are too polite to go rob somebody at gunpoint.
9. MOST Canadians are smart enough to survive on their own with the bit of assistance provided by the Mother Country.
10. Most Canadians are smart enough to recognize evil when they see it.

Not sure how ANY of this accounts for YOUR misguided opinions.

I would add - way more social investment.

As someone who lives in rural Kansas, I do see the exact opposite. I hope the national trend is obvious, though. Trump won his primary. Sanders lost.
This is a thoroughly disingenuous argument.

Trump won a primary that was multi-way for a long time. Sanders basically lost by fairly slim margins in essentially a head-to-head campaign in 2016 (unless you count Martin O'Malley). IIRC he took about 45% of the popular vote. I think that's about the same proportion of the popular vote Trump collected in the Republican primaries, even though for quite a few of them he was already the presumptive nominee.

Sure, but you also have to consider the fact that Sanders lost support from 2016-20, suggesting that many of his voters in 16 were less pro Bernie and more anti Clinton. Over 90% of Sanders voters are planning to vote for Biden, suggesting a lack of super far-left voters, who tend to be Biden-skeptical.

Agree with re: to racism. . We think it is totally ignorant, even though a BLM gang converged on a small town of Innisfail, about 8,000 near Calgary, and (hardly any BLM were from Alberta) they started screaming at the locals and calling them racists, and just generally showed their true colors, and I don't mean skin color, as many were white. They are just professional a-holes. They are also very stupid people, with an average IQ of (probably) 90. George Soros empowers them.

So we are not totally opposed in what we see here

Homicide rates and pop density:
Vancouver, within the city limits, is about 670,00. One of the most densely populated cities in North America. In a bad year, Vancouver city has about 10 murders. How does that compare with say, Seattle? In 2018 Seattle city (area pop 580,000) had 30 murders. Greater Vancouver had about 30, and that is for the whole metro area of over 2.5 million

Toronto is the 4th biggest city in North America (within City limits). It has a relatively low homicide rate that fluctuated between 2.1 to 3.8 per 100,000 people over the 2010s decade, which is lower than other major cities such as Atlanta, (19.0), Chicago (18.5), Boston (9.0), San Francisco (8.6), and of the aforementioned cities, Size has nothing to do with the murder rate. If I remember right, Stockton Cal is about

One of Canada's most violent cities is Prince George, with a pop of 85,000

In 2016 Stockton Calif had 55 murders. Their pop is 310,000 They had had 16 murders in the first 4 months of 2020. Stockton is 170 square km, or about 62 square miles. Kind of spread out

Of course, this is all Trump's fault :-p

Kamloops? Love the place, but would not want to live on the Tranquille side of the River

OBTW re: Ignoramuses living in the West: Admittedly we have many. Half of them came from Ontario

Income levels are not a factor. We are just not as violent a people. Period

We really are not polite at all. That is a myth. If you don't believe me, just take a drive during rush hour in Calgary, Vancouver, or simply go into a bar at 10 pm and tell folks you like Trump. After that say nothing.. but do be sitting with your back to a wall. We do NOT recognize that which is evil any more than the US. We are just as perverted in our ways. Eg: is Vancouver. Just as vile as 'Frisco, well almost

Same value set. Both sides of the border.. but we are a bit smarter.. as the average 12 yr old moving here from the US is put back a year in school.. and most of our 12 year olds can name the state capitals of at least 40 of the US states.. and can point to Chicago, New York, or Dallas, on a blank Map. Most Americans think Toronto is Canada's Capital city.. US might be good in some of the sciences, but in Geography, a first year student gets buried by a 12 yr old Canadian.

Aside from our health care system, which works (in spite of itself, and all the built in beaurocracy) Socialism is a total fail. 30% of the budget is for welfare.. but a big % of those who are on it, don't want to work. They make money dealing drugs. Single able bodied people should not qualify for it. This would allow twice as much for those who need it, aka single moms. Want to know what the real problem is in Canada? Broken homes. Failed marriages, and the victims are the kids.. half of them don't know their father. That describe 85% of them who are behind bars. You see, without mom and dad, the government has your kids for like 1200 hours by the time they are 18. Not good. It also puts a huge drag on social services, which of course is paid with our taxes.

Our 'Tax freedom day ' is soon going to be in early July. Taxes also includes Enviro levies, GST, PST, luxury car tax, Air conditioning tax (cars) real estate purchase tax, and cap gains tax outside the TFSA. So you see, the government taxes what we earn, what we spend, what we save, what we invest, and oh yeah, did I forget the $2,500 to get the permit to cut down that tree in your back yard? This is socialism.. and we are very stupid in this regard because there is no pushback

In 1960 if you bought $400 worth of tires, you paid $20 in taxes, that's all. Today you pay $52 tx, plus the enviro levy, something about recycling.. and your tires set you back at over $475. Are we better off today? NO.. I have been here for both. Did I mention the tax on fuel? How about the service? Arrogantly they make you pay first, and you pay $1.50 to put air in a soft tire.

Now go back 60 years.. You get the fuel pumped FOR you, We check your oil, water levels (not necessary today) check for frayed belts and wearing rad hoses.and no way you leave with a soft tire. we did that for you too. Took all of an extra 2-3 minutes. Then we cleaned your windshield. The socialist agenda: I hate it with a perfect hatred

Long winded? Perhaps

End of essay

Nope. That was fifty shades of dumb. Though I laughed at three things: oh, so Trump should **** on Atlanta instead of Chicago? Or Stockton?

And this dude has literally no clue what inflation is. "This cost $30 less 60 years ago!" Ok.

I don't think you read that right. Today $400 buys you 2 good tires. THEN $400 would buy you 4 sets. I understand inflation. In fact, when I got p.o.d at the idea of paying a dollar fifty to put air in a soft tire. They just told me "That's inflation"

You did NOT read through very carefully, instead you prefer to play the u r full of it dumbarse game. Waste of time. My point there was the difference in the amount of TX we pay.. as a percentage of our total income. In that day, you could invest $300 and later sell the stock for $500 assuming you bought right.. and you paid NO gains tax.

A 14 year old can read what I posted and understand it. Apparently you either can't, or just refuse to. I will guess it's the latter. You lust like to argue. and of course pee on your 'enemy' with a gratuitous cheap shot to finish your comment. You are an adult, yes? I think you just hate the truth..and everything in that long post was truth

My favorite part was when he described how Canada's healthcare system works better than ours while still making sure to stress the fact that "socialism doesn't work, ok"?

My other favorite was "we are not as violent a people." That's a nice little dogwhistle there. 99% sure that the real answer to this guy is that they have less black people.

I liked the part about the air at gas stations. Does he think we get free air here in the U.S.?? I agree about the lack of service at our fuel stations.
But, I can pump my own gas, check my own oil, make sure the tires are aired up OK. 40 years ago I didn't have an air compressor at home. THEY were rather expensive then and only professionals and garages had them. Now, 40 years later, nearly everyone has a compressor. Making the air you use free, except for the cost of the electricity you use to generate the air. Times change.

I'm old too. But, there ARE eternal truths that NONE of us can fight.
The only think in life that's constant is CHANGE.
Adapt or perish.

It's sometimes hard for us old guys who THOUGHT we had the world by a string BUT you change or you sink.

Another eternal truth.............. All things must grow, or die!
The very moment you stop growing/learning you begin dying!
It's called entropy.

The problem is, this Country is so large and so diversified, that we have multiple definitions of "growth".
Treating everyone as an equal is to me and many others growth, but not to some some.
Abolishing police, opening our boarders to everyone and handing things out for "free" are all growth to some, but certainly not to me and many others
Who gets to decide who's definition is correct? Right now it's one of the two Parties, and that's scary for some either way.

"Abolishing police, opening our boarders to everyone and handing things out for "free" are all growth to some, but certainly not to me and many others"

Your statement (above) has NOTHING to do with "growth".
And a boarder is someone you rent a room to.
And I was referring to intellectual "growth", enlightenment if you will, simple terms, your BRAIN.
When you stop inputting information/knowledge IN, your brain shuts OFF, it begins to shrink, to die.

Growth has NOTHING to do with ideology or policy.
And yes, we KNOW you hate the two parties we presently have.
And YES, you are FREE (HERE!!) to reassemble in ANY fashion you choose to............ALL you gotta do all3 is effectively communicate a philosophy that inspires everyone else (or a LOT of them!!) to join you in assembly!

Voila! A 3rd party.
Personally I think we need 4 or 5 (fairly) evenly populated parties.
