Friends, fans, and followers,
Like Julius Caesar often experienced, I had a vivid dream last night that promised to guide me should I consent to listen to its wisdom. Like the dreams experienced by all great prophets, it was also a warning. Life must run its course, even on the internet. The dream voice told me: you have taken on an impossible task, resurrecting these forums to their past greatness is no longer possible. Though a few giants of old remain (Bronx, Kermit, Bagchucker, to some extent Wylie) the new stock of poster does not open themselves to the possibility of greatness. They are content with a meek, mediocrity...think of Nietzsche's last men. The voice told me, your wit and wisdom is wasted here : these are not the ears for you. You will speak, they will not listen. You will lose your voice and nothing great shall be gained. This voice whispered, walk away...leave this forum you once loved to its fate.
My friends! I fought and struggled with this awful voice! I mentioned Denny03, Miket23, Tram66, Noose4, Laura, Djiboutirep, Mudcat, and CrestensPa. I shrieked, greatness is still possible. I will give my all to it. I struggled for hours like this - in my sleep! Friends, do you understand the strength it takes to fight like this during one's hours of rest?
Finally, I woke sober and sure. The time has come to leave you. In leaving you, I also know I am leaving these forums to die a slow death. One new topic a day? None? Great Cresten deserves better. But , it's true, the time has come to say goodbye. Someday, we will meet again - when I have founded a great religion and you, my friends, can be my followers once more. Goodbye, this is my last post.
