Over in Addicted Users (constantly rated as one of the top worlds) we're just finishing the World Series and are looking for a few new owners so that we can immediately roll. Bar none, the best world I play in, rolls every time within a day or two max and I love how willing everyone is to trade. Not just rinky-dink 5th starter/LR types for your borderline ML LF prospect, but real meaningful trades. It's just one indication of the activity level in this world. Also worth noting how balanced it is - quite a bit of turnover in playoff teams and WS champs (including multiple who recently won in their first season in the world....)

Current openings are as follows:

Florida Franchise (NL East): This team fell short of our multi-season MWR requirement (strictly enforced, though we often are happy to welcome long time owners back a few seasons down the road with a different team) a few seasons back, and are now looking for a long-time owner. A few have come in and not stuck around when there hasn't been immediate success, but their loss is your gain as the prospect base is even more stacked now - they should have the #1 pick next season, and already have #3 overall pick Cam Farquhar, #1 overall Walt Victorino, #1 overall Tommy Mullins, and #6 overall Marty Sellers as well as a strong SP (projected 80+ though he likely ends up high 70s) in Erick Swan. If you're looking to be the next new owner to immediately win a WS, this isn't your team as there's some rough contracts from the previous owner trying to hit mins, but if you're patient, this team has the talent and prospect base to win big.

Portland Franchise (NL North): This team is the quintessential example of someone who went all-in to try to win, failed and bailed; an unfortunate reality that we've largely avoided in Addicted Users, but here it is. This means you've got some young high-end ML talent in guys like Rodney Duff, Jordan Bannister, Benito Polanco, Artie Wood and front-line pitchers in Vernon Petricka and Don Ogawa as well as a strong supporting cast. Clearly ML talent is not an issue; downside is that most of that talent comes with long-term contracts, so there's not a lot of initial flexibility. Luckily this is a world that loves to trade and there's real talent on the team. The minors also have recent #6 pick Jensen McDowell and will have the #7 pick. At this point, it's either trade and try to accelerate a rebuild or go for it with the existing talent while building up a prospect base behind the scenes.
