Goal for round 2 at the start: 555 regular season wins

New, lowered goal considering I am just below .500: 510 regular season wins. I had to lower my goal by 45 wins for three reasons. One, this is the cage. Two, errors in drafting. Three, I mismanaged the teams I drafted. I definitely learned some lessons in round 2 this year.

I'm still hanging in at the moment thanks to three strong teams. My 05 Yankees have sucked all season, but these two teams are hard to watch:

$160m: started 28-21, 4-17 since
$90m: started 31-20, 3-16 since

Neither team is especially fatigued. I was feeling a lot better twenty games ago :(

I'm finally digging out of a fatigue hole that was created by a combination of not drafting enough IP, mismanagement of my staff, and some bad luck. The 90M team was especially hard hit. At the risk of jinxing myself, I have averted a death spiral for now.

Five of my teams show my trademark consistency. Two teams at 44-38, three at 43-39. That works out to a respectable 514 regular season wins if my other team was like them. Alas, my 90M is NOT like them. Their 34-48 record sticks out like a sore thumb. Poor management and pitcher fatigue issues have caused this team to struggle.

In the 90M league, I failed to realize that I would need extra IP because my pitchers were going to allow more BB than a typical league with fewer BB/SO hitters. 195 BB so far compared to 225 BB in RL for the entire season. One of many factors which contributed to fatigue issues.

I have 2016 Kershaw in three leagues (110M, 130M, and 160M): His stats at the halfway point in each are as follows:

110M: 79.1 IP, 5-3, 18 saves, 1.82 ERA, 0.221 OAV, 0.93 WHIP
130M: 72 IP, 1-9, 3 saves, 4.88 ERA, 0.308 OAV, 1.40 WHIP
160M: 64 IP, 4-5, 18 saves, 1.55 ERA, 0.209 OAV, 0.94 WHIP

While he's been even better than what you'd expect in the 160M league, he's been absolutely brutal in the 130M (and is keeping me out of first place in the division)...

I also have three Kershaws, one 2015 vintage and two 2016. Their stats are:

Variable Cap, 2015 Kershaw: 131.1 IP, 9-7, 3.08 ERA, .226 OAV, 1.07 WHIP
130M, 2016 Kershaw: 86.2 IP, 4-5, 3.01 ERA, .260 OAV, 1.08 WHIP
160M, 2016 Kershaw: 86.2 IP, 4-6, 3.01 ERA, .239 OAV, 0.97 WHIP

Remarkably consistent.

110m Kershaw14: 5-8, 4.32 ERA, .245oav, 1.24whip
130m Kershaw15: 9-9, 4.09 ERA, .250oav, 1.28whip

I stretched Bill Bernhard into the 90M, 130M and 160M leagues. That last one was not a good pick (Mordecai Brown would have been better), as these stats show:

90M - 151 IP, 9-8,2.68 ERA,.245 OAV, 1.21 WHIP
130M - 140.1 IP, 12-9, 3.72 ERA, .267 OAV, 1.31 WHIP
160M - 127.1 IP, 3-7, 5.58 ERA, .299 OAV, 1.52 WHIP

Somehow my 2005 Yankee team in the variable league is 12-4 vs deadball teams, and 26-49 vs modern teams. Other than ARod, my team is hardly putting up any homers, despite facing a ton of modern pitching. My success vs deadballers, while sucking so much vs modern guys is baffling.

everyone's done well against the deadball teams. d_rock's team is definitely underachieving its run differential but the other two are really struggling.

It’s actually annoying. I have 3 starters who have an ERA under 2.8 in their last 10 games, and all of them have negative W/L records.

None of my cookie hitters (Laporte, Cravath, Barrett, Gardner) are hitting, even against scrubs like Carl Pavano, Mike Mussina, Al Leiter, and Esteban Loaiza

My 90M has gone 14-3 to tie another of my teams for worst record. Not surprisingly, the other team is my 130M team that stopped overachieving, going 5-12 over the same span.

Second schwarze of Round 2, vs 1 mauch. Somewhat surprising given where I sit in the standings.

not a good time for a 4-14 day, ozomatli looking like a pretty big favorite right now
