From what I've seen, the theme leagues take a real long time to start due to not a lot of people joining them. Most people just join the standard open leagues.

I would like to avoid clone teams

Also: since rookies are gone in most leagues, does that mean the last 3 guys on a gievn team get put on an Inactive List?

part 1 vis theme leagues taking a long time to fill - not in my experience, check the classified forums, there are some active right now while others have had to use waitlists (theme leagues are definitely the way to go if you want to avoid clones)

part 2 vis no rookies, there is no inactive list
