Watching the Blue jays all year, i have to think there will be some high salaries.

Vlad, i assume will be in the $8-9m range
Semien most HR ever by a 2b; assuming A glove and C range probably $6.5m
Bichette with the hits, power, and SB's might be +$7.5M
Teoscar Hernandez might be a steal at a $5m type salary
Robbie Ray's & Manoah K rates will have them in the $8 & $5.5 (lower innings) range
Berrios as mentioned above probably $6m
Romano as a solid closer (probably in the $2.5 range)
Tim Meyza as a LHS will be in the $1.75m
Springer might be a good platoon due to injuries ($3.25m ?)

Haven’t looked close enough to put educated guesses on salaries, but just thinking of where Vlad fits in, I’m guessing $7.8-8.3m range.

Saw a tweet that 2021 players may be available in just a few more days.

Thanks for the update!

There was a tweet last week that said "end of the week or early next week"

that passed, then there was a tweet 3 days ago about "in the next day or so"

Not whining, just saying sometimes best to do the "under promise and over deliver" thing

Bryce Harper under $6 million? Love it!

There are three active Luis Garcias and the game is confused as to who had what season. It appears to think there was just one Luis Garcia who played split seasons with three teams. Washington Luis Garcia is an infielder and yet somehow has a position and a pitcher season.

And if we're going to accidentally give that Luis Garcia a hitter and pitcher season just give Ohtani pitcher eligibility, too. He's never going to get used with that OF rating in any league except DH leagues, just make him a pitcher, jeeze.

Interesting how the two combined seasons for Trea Turner are so different defensively. Dodgers is C/B+ (2B) and B-/B- (SS) and $6.6M, and Nationals is C/C- and B-/D+ and $6.0M.

There seem to be some oddities with the combined seasons across the board. Normally they have identical raw stats with slight differences in advanced stats from normalization if in different leagues, but I'm seeing different stats and advanced stats when in same league. Same with salaries, normally a combined season has the same price as the other combined season (same stats) unless different leagues where normalization impacted it, but we have same league combined seasons with different salaries, too...

Vlad is $6.9 and with great Def at 1b
semien is just over $5m
Bo is 5.5ish
Teo is a steal at $4.6
robbie Ray is in the $5's and Manoah with a .201 OAV# high K's and a +100 opp HR and 112 innings is just $3.2!
Romano is at $2m
Meyza is a smidge lower at 1.2M
and springer is just $2.6

seems all came in 10-20% lower than i would have thought. disappointed that the defense was not appreciated though

Hopefully pointing out a few of the anomalies will allow Admin to work on the process. I'm glad to see the 2021 players released in a timely manner.

On a separate note, we have a couple of all time "bad" catchers. How did the Padres give Francisco Mejia 113 PA's this season? You'd think a .077/..143/.179/.322 slash with a 5% CS (1) number might give management pause to use him. That's a 31 AVG+ BTW. Sort of ditto for Reese McGuire who managed 122 PAs with an .073/.073/.146/.220 slash. Three hits in 122 PAs? Yikes. At least he gives you a 48% CS. His AVG + is 30, but since WIS skews catcher arms, he'll cost you over a million bucks. .

Sky Bolt - great name, bad player. I saw him in person this season and he looked woefully overmatched. With an .088/.103/.158 triple slash, Sky is suitable solely for PR duties and late inning OF defensive purposes. He won't make an error if you keep him at 100% His speed rating of 94 works and his SBA/100SBO is 50, so he'll attempt to go if he enters a game as a PR (doubtful he'd be on base any other way). Anyhow, a few musings on Friday AM.
Back to work.

My pitching staff of all 2021 pitchers came in at under $20m. For comparison, using the same criteria, my pitching staff for 2020 comes in at $28m and my 2019 staff with same criteria is $26m. I actually had money left over and came back and bought upgrades at two pitching spots to bring me up to just under $24m. This should be fun.

Ohtani will just be a DH
Not sure the best way to incorporate this (from the programming perspective), but requiring a player like 2021 Ohtani or 1918-19 Ruth to only be a hitter needs to change.

These type of players are unicorns and to force them to only do one or the other is basically cutting the horn off the unicorn.

100% agree with this. I've always wondered about the reasoning behind this decision.
