we managed to win both Game 5's against hawkkev. one of the wins I had a stolen base by Christy Mathewson on a mucked-up hit and run. the other saw Jim Lillie, one of the worst players in the sim who I only drafted to rig the SLG total, get a key pinch hit in extra innings to set up the winning run.

this game is incredibly stupid.

Just a small correction to point out...my round 2 playoff total should be 6 points, not 5.

Congrats on the Game 5 wins 06gsp. Can anyone mathematically catch you?

Yeah two terrific series, gsp, with super close game 5s. It would be a stretch to even really push you, but I had these hopes maybe I could still make it interesting here at the end. But obviously a huge blow to that. Great job on this whole tourney though, you've certainly earned it!

on the bright side, losing by half a point after leading the entire way in both rounds would be more memorable than just winning

Good point, rbow. d_rock's been tough in the playoffs and 2nd place is clearly in play.

gsp, I'm surprised you haven't clinched it yet, but I'm sure you aren't losing any sleep yet either lol. The only question to me is whether you lead everyone in each of the rounds, which would be an incredible accomplishment.

looks like it's now official assuming my math is correct. thanks to ozomatli for running the tournament and schwarze and d_rock for helping out in Round 2.

glad to get some new blood in the winner's circle, it had been the same three guys winning for quite a while.

Congratulations gsp! Wow you sure earned it with such a convincing victory - well done!!

I recall in the owners' poll back at the beginning that a surprising number of people thought that a new winner would emerge this year - they turned out to be an insightful group.
