Remove Central Arkansas from the list too. Last season they lost their virginity too in Wilkenson.

Congratulations to S_Cottrell23 and Indpnt1 on winning the first-ever national championships at those schools. I will update the list.

Just for kicks, today I went back to see if there are any schools that have never won a CONFERENCE championship. I did not find any. Just a cursory look tells me Air Force has probably won the fewest, but I did not spend enough time at this to confirm.

Division III updated 10/29/22. No new champions.
Division II updated 10/29/22. One new champion:
*Henderson State, jasonfreeman, Stagg/Season 177*
Division I updated 10/30/22. No new champions. Kentucky/Bryant (huskerfan58) nearly joined the club, but lost in the Season 186 national championship game.

DePaul nearly joined the club in 172 Warner. We lost to a heck of a North Carolina team in the title game. That would of been a fun one to win.

Reading this thread, as someone who has never coached D1A and likely never will, it tells me that the Elite school crap is total bullpoop. Every school should be able to recruit and build well enough to contend.

Stick with d2 Mitz. Or for the toughest challenge 1AA is harder to recruit than 1A because of 1A teams scooping up your best recruits. My hats off to guys that deal with that.

I was dealing with that for a few seasons at California State on Rockne. Won all three conference championships. I hated that recruiting so much I went back to D2.

If someone wishes to pick up a D3 team looking for its first title, I just narrowed down that list based on their location and conference (relative to traditionally dominant programs) as well as the available recruit distribution in their area. I think McMurry (TX) is probably the most likely breakthrough candidate.
Some New England schools (Mass. Maritime, Norwich, Springfield, UMass-Dartmouth) are solid choices as well.
I won't bore you with all the numbers.

It'll take me a few more seasons, but I think I'll be able to knock DePauw off the list eventually in D3.

Just removed Rice from the list after an amazing run to a national championship by sportsdouche in Leahy.

You ought to do a list of how many championships have been won by the schools who have won at least one. We will see just how unfair the elite system is at that point.
