Cows are trying to schedule with Chapleau, but can't seem to get a yes. Chapleau, if you're out there, let's play!
Also of note, Harti Butt seems to be making a cool $1.8M a year. Who's laughing now?
Keep trying to schedule, Champ. If I don't hear from him, I'll know what to do when the deadline is reached.

In the 6/22 morning games, FC Kingston prevented La Daga Club de Fútbol from clinching a Knockout Round spot with Quong Ikeda's goal in the 86th minute that forced a 4-4 tie. The draw kept Kingston's playoff hopes barely alive as they must go perfect from here on out while La Daga is still comfortably atop the Group E standings but has still not guaranteed its own survival...although there is only one unlikely scenario that eliminates La Daga in a tiebreaker/coin flip.

In Group D, Real TK was eliminated on home soil when they fell to F.C Baltimore Blue 3-2. Blue gets its first win of group play and moves into a transfer spot, at least for the moment.

La Daga Club de Fútbol finally punches its ticket in dramatic fashion when Gonzalez Núñez scored the equalizer on literally the last play of the game to draw level on the road against milli pede. La Daga becomes the third team to advance up to this point and needed consecutive 4-4 ties today in order to do it.

Another six games are to be played tomorrow as the Group Stage enters crunch time. For the teams that have clinched spots or are on the verge, points still matter since they determine Knockout Round seeding...and with it those four valuable 1st Round byes.

Re-sent my challenges to Black Mambas and CNFC.

In a must not lose situation, F.C. Baltimore Blue was unable to get the jobe done on the road and lost 3-0 to Rushmore FC. That clinched (at least) 2nd place for Rushmore and eliminated Blue from the competition. The final two Group D games will determine seeding for Fighting Ants and Rushmore, allowing Real TK to play the role of spoiler.

In Group C, Futbol Club Oviedo fell short of the home win that would have sent them to the next round, setting up the final game as a win or go home contest against golf_yeah. If Oviedo wins, they advance to the knockouts. If Oviedo ties or loses, the crutchanators of soccer move on in the tournament since they hold the goal differential tiebreaker.

And a big win for Space Olympics this morning! Don't forget about Group B! :)

lol, yeah...but I usually report on the games with the most drama to keep the Nielsen ratings up.

You and mambas traded identical 4-3 home wins. Once the Cotopaxi games start, Group B might be the headline story for a whole week.

In the only evening game, Shoals Soccer Club avoids elimination for a second day with another road win, this time 3-2 over Kobelco United Football Club, denying the latter a ticket to the next round. The Group A transfer slots are still open to all four teams, although the only way for Shoals and Chapleau Football Club to advance is to get to 9 points and somehow make up the goal differential, which is substantial. Stranger things have happened...

lol, just thought I'd add some friendly banter. Have really enjoyed the tournament and keeping up with the other groups via your posts here.

Before I start updating the overnight games, let's dispense of a piece of business first. We are approaching the final 72 hours for Group Stage scheduling and here's where we are at. Unscheduled Games - 5

GROUP B -
  1. Cotopaxi home to CNFC (Cotopaxi sends the challenge)
  2. CNFC home to Cotopaxi (CNFC sends the challenge)
GROUP F - All three home games involving Iberian Sharpshooters Football Club. Sharpshooters sends the challenges

I loathe disqualifying a team due to failure to schedule. The rules state: "On the evening of the last day for each stage, all games that have not been scheduled will be deemed a 0-0 draw so that the stage can be completed. The team failing to issue (or accept) a challenge will be awarded no points for the drawn game. Any team with more than one forfeiture will be withdrawn from the tournament and cannot advance."

The rule is in place to prevent a team that has gone total AWOL from holding up the tourney... and from signups to championship, FC Dynasty Cup lasts a couple of months. It is not intended to be inflexible and punitive.

The unscheduled games in Group B have been trickling in so, if a game ends up not being scheduled by the deadline, no forfeiture will occur, just a missed opportunity to earn stage points (the 0-0 draw will award no points to either team.)

As far as Group F is concerned, I have to believe Iberian Sparpshooters has been waiting for signings since World 73 is now in week 4. For the other three teams in Group F, please be on the lookout for an incoming challenge and accept ASAP. Thanks.

In the 6/24 AM games, Iberian Sharpshooters Football Club grab a key 3-2 road win over North Polar Dragons, despite playing a man down for the final 12 minutes when Hrychleah Huntington was sent off after being booked for two yellows in the 2nd half. The win catapults Sharpshooters into the transfer spot (for now) based on goal differential and leaves North Polar in a must win situation for the rest of the Group F schedule.

Meanwhile, Canadian National Football Club and Space Olympics score 6 goals between them in the first half but fail to tally after the break, forcing the 28,859 fans in attendance to accept a point each rather than grabbing all three. That leaves with the games against Club de Fútbol Deportivo Cotopaxi as the final six contests in Group B play. Given that Olympics, CNFC and black mambas are only separated by three points, relative strength (or weakness) against Cotopaxi will determine who is moving on and who is going home.

I love it. It like reading the morning sports pages over coffee.

awesome,, really glad to hear it.

What makes the tournament fun is how competitive it is. The Cup shows that FC Dynasty could have been a viable game had WIS tried.

It's free, so WIS doesn't feel an obligation to improve it. I am very active in MLB Dynasty, which is $4.99 per season, and it is light years ahead of FC Dynasty.

Let's go group by group...

Group A - The defending champs The Shield of the Cow advanced out of the Group Stage with a 4-2 road victory, eliminating Shoals Soccer Club, who fought to the end of group play despite a rough tournament start. Kobelco United Football Club, on the other hand, dropped its third straight home game, this time to Chapleau Football Club 3-2. That leaves Chapleau in control of its own destiny. It must defeat The Cow on the road by more than 5 goals. If the game ends 5-0 Chapleau, we would actually have an exact tie in differential (+3), away goals (11) and goals scored (17). Never say never.

Group C - Futbol Club Oviedo, needing a win at home, took the early lead in the 20th minute with a goal by Julio Schwegler...but then lost their composure as golf_yeah scored two goals in the final 25 minutes to end Oviedo's tournament run. This result sent the crutchanators of soccer, who were watching the game via satellite, through to the next round with what will probably be a double digit 1st Round seed..

Group D - The Fighting Ants complete their dominant play with a 4-2 road win over Rushmore FC. More important than the score, Ants clinched the #1 seed in the Knockout Rounds and will take some time off before starting play again in the Quarterfinals. Rushmore advances as a likely double digit seed.

Group E - milli pede was hoping for Cambridge Hornets to get a result against FC Kingston but it didn't happen, with Kingston winning the game at home 4-2. That set up the penultimate match in Group E. milli pede would advance with a win and Kingston would advance with a win or tie. While milli pede scored first, the equalizer in the 80th minute from Maky Guerrero gave Kingston the 1-1 tie and sent them through to the next round based on the goal differential tiebreaker. Both Cambridge and the pede were eliminated from the tournament.
