It’s pretty awesome that ten people just signed up for Savage X when dh555 hasn’t even started a signup list yet. Of course I didn’t even wait for this, I told him last week in a site mail that I was in.

ill set everything up friday

ive been thinking more about a savage clone wars edition...really want to give it a try...my plan is to jump right into it after savage 10 finishes up(depending on where odl/52 are at)

What is clone wars? Will it be in addition to savage or instead of?

I think it was the end of Savage before last there was some spit-balling about how to evolve Savage. I think Clone Wars was maybe draft LeBron get 5 seasons and the rest of his seasons were draftable. Maybe he's even drafted 3 times. I could be wrong though. Declaring seasons during the draft would be difficult. Maybe you only declare by the end of the draft and subsequent LeBron drafters are waiting on LeBron 1 seasons, then LeBron 2 picks, then maybe even LeBron 3?

I've always thought it would be fun to split Lebron into two draftable players with separate lists of seasons for each and see where the two halves get drafted. Depending on how you do it I think both Lebrons would go in the top 15-20.

If you did 0708-1112 as one LeBron and then 1213-1718 LeBron, they'd probably both go in the top 5.

And that's not even including the later seasons, like 19-20 or 21-22, both which would be excellent Savage seasons for any other player.

Where would 17-18 through 21-22 Lebron go? I.e. his last five seasons? Even with no seasons over 70 D it's still probably late 1st right?

Absolutely. Let's have a thought experiment & try to give each one 6 seasons to choose from.

03-04 through 09-10 is Bron A
10-11 through 15-16 is Bron B
16-17 through current is Bron C

Bron B is obviously the best player in the sim.

Bron A is still ridiculously good - a (much) better (undrafted as of this post player). I think he's easily top 10, most likely top 5. Maybe even top 2. There are maybe discussions b/w him & Mike, but I think it's reasonable to say Bron A easily wins. I probably take him 2.

Bron C is definitely a drop off from the other two, but with his efg%, all 70 defense, dimes, back court boards, threes, usage... Probably still top 15 & easily a 1st rounder.

I'm not quite as high as you on 03-10 Bron; I know the defense is great but you could argue it goes behind 16-present Bron because 16-17 and 17-18 are so much more efficient than any of the pre-2009 Bron seasons. But definitely agree all three go first round.

Seriously: I would love to do this for the next Savage. Split Bron into those three players and let each be drafted independently. I think it'd be pretty cool.

I would hate it simply because of how annoying it be for me from a historical record keeping standpoint.

Savage is perfect as is.

Edit: Unless it's just LeBron? If it's every player, it's a terrible idea. If it's just LeBron then I think it's kind of pointless, but I won't throw a fit. Seasons should be decided pre-draft then.

I second Ben’s opinion. In what other league would you have 13 people sign up before any sitemail, or classified post? That is a huge endorsement of just how perfect it is. I can appreciate a commissioner trying to stay ahead and make proactive changes before I things get old. But I just don’t see it here. If the league was struggling for interest to fill, then maybe a change is necessary.

I'm not sure DH was suggesting to replace current Savage, but add that after. Assuming there's enough interest.

I was of the opinion that Savage X would be a great time to trying something new, but I now think keep it the same one more time. We'll likely see some chalk unless there's a few new owners or prior owners picking in new places.

Savage XI with the new player seasons will be interesting for sure....
