Swampdragons haven't received a challenge from Baltimore

Now is as good a time as any to make the final scheduling appeal. There are two games left that have yet to be scheduled prior to the Nov 2 7pm deadline.

Unscheduled Games - 2

Group A -

F.C. Baltimore Blue home against Swampdragons (Blue sends the challenge)
The Shield of the Cow home against F.C. Baltimore Blue (The Cow sends the challenge)

Please schedule if possible. Games mean goals scored and stage points...and those determine transfer spots, tiebreakers and Knockout Round seeding.

The 10/31am games are in the books and Futbol Club Oviedo continues to remain the only team to officially advance.

The Shield of the Cow had an opportunity to puch their ticket in Group A with a tie but fell victim to Swampdragons Dariell Lucy's second tournament hat trick or better as dragons pounded The Cow at home 5-2. Lucy shoots up to eight goals and leads the Golden Toe. Group A now depends on the two remaining unscheduled games, with Swampdragons praying that they get played. The top three teams are within a point.

In Group B, butterfiles united were eliminated out of their first Cup after a tough 2-1 home loss against the crutchanators of soccer when forward Kali Bengtson scored his 2nd of the game with 12 minutes to go. The La Daga Club de Fútbol/Kobelco United Football Club game, the last one in the group, will determine which two teams are advancing as there could be a three-way tie at 10 points if Kobelco wins.

FC Cackalacky and Club de Fútbol Deportivo Cotopaxi played to the tournament's 2nd 0-0 tie. Group D is still wide open with all four teams very much alive. Rushmore FC takes three points in its Group E matchup on the road against Space Olympics in another group where all four teams are still in the hunt. Tiger Laventure finished off a Rushmore comeback in the 2nd half, erasing a 2-0 halftime defecit, when he found himself all alone in the box and rocketed a shot past a helpless Olympics goalie in the last minute of the game. kangaroo fc still leads Group E based on a tiebreaker.

With the number of games dwindling, virtually every game from this point forward will either secure a Knockout Round spot or eliminate a squad from the competition. This might be the tighest Group Stage in FC Dynasty Cup history. Well played, gentlemen.

Yeah...just keep an open challenge somewhere around slots 3-4 and maybe we'll get lucky and he checks in before the deadline.

CARRBORO NC - FC Cackalacky has a huge daily double taking on RTK at 2 PM and Cotopaxi CF at 8 PM on 11/1. Followed by a League Game and their final group game against Merchiston. Anything can happen in this 3 game run - but the opponents are all watching. Thank goodness that the regular season injury to star striker Sixten Hede has not kept him out of the FCDC-X

OK, I did a double-take when I saw the score from Group B this evening.

First, Futbol Club Oviedo and black mambas played to a 2-2 tie in Group F. The point clinches a First Round bye for Oviedo and temporarily lifts mambas into the 2nd transfer spot. Lowestoft FC, with a game in hand, will have something to say about whether mambas is able to keep it.

In Group B, Kobelco United Football Club goes from third place and out to winning the group when they hammer La Daga Club de Fútbol, on the road in Spain, 4-0. Rolfe Reinhard's two 2nd half goals sealed three teams' fate since the group finished in a three-way tie. Kobelco, La Daga and the crutchanators of soccer ended up with identical 3-2-1 records and 10 points, all had 8 away goals to boot. The tiebreaker was goal differential. Kobelco finishes with a +4, the margin of today's victory, crutchanators advances as the 2nd place team with a +3 and La Daga dropped from +5 all the way down to +1 and has been eliminated from the tournament. 10 stage points and going home...that's tough, bubtron1990...you had a good team.

More transfer spots up for grabs tomorrow.

Oh yeah, and nittany88, that's pretty dramatic stuff, lol.

Most of the games today are in the afternoon.

Of the two am games, Rushmore FC hosted co-Group E leader kangaroo fc. The winner would clinch a spot in the playoffs and, in the 66th minute, Elder Szetela scored off a free kick into an essentially open net to give Rushmore the hard-fought 1-0 win and the blue highlighting. The final Group E transfer spot will be decided this evening and all three teams have a chance. kangaroo has a 2nd shot to beat Rushmore and clinch whereas the Iberian Sharpshooters Football Club/Space Olympics game needs a kangaroo loss to become the deciding factor.

In Group C, Aurea Cruce Aquilonis ends its tournament dealing a blow to golf_yeah's playoff hopes with a dominant 4-1 road win. Aquilonis controlled the game throughout and now forces golf to win out to advance. If golf can't do that, its games with Shoals Soccer Club and Swamp City Dragons will determine which one of those two wins the group versus finishing 2nd. The winner of Group C is in very good shape for a First Round bye.

A lot more action this evening with several Knockout Round bids to be secured.

One win in the books for the 2 PM Game, now for the 8 PM Game - Let's go FC Cackalacky!

Three of the pm games were played at 1pm, so let's get them in the books.

FC Cackalacky did indeed win this afternoon, as they defeat Real TK 2-1 to create a Group D three-way tie, which seems to be a thing this tournament. All the goals were scored in the first 27 minutes and then the goalies for both clubs took over. All four Group D teams are still in the hunt so nothing has been decided yet...until the 7pm game between Cackalacky and Club de Fútbol Deportivo Cotopaxi finishes, that is.

In a must win game for both teams, Space Olympics gets the job done and gains a 4-1 road victory over Iberian Sharpshooters Football Club out of Group E. The win moves Olympics back into 2nd place but, stuck at 7 points, they'll need kangaroo fc to lose to Rushmore FC in the final group game. A kangaroo tie or win will give them the 2nd transfer spot. Sharpshooters, unfortunately, has been eliminated from the competition.

Congratulatuions to Lowestoft FC, in its first Cup, as they clinch a Knockout Round spot with a 2-0 road win over black mambas, which is also eliminated from the competition. The final Group F game between Lowestoft and FC kingston will determine Lowestoft seeding. A win will probably clinch the #5 seed.

5 out of the 12 spots have been claimed with another becoming official tonight. Stay tuned...

Four teams saw their way to the Knockouts this evening.

Swamp City Dragons, behind the goal scoring of Filmore Bishop, clinched their spot when the beat golf_yeah 3-1 on the road. The Dragons win eliminated golf and also advanced Shoals Soccer Club, who had the night off. Shoals now has their sole job to either get to 13 points or make up the goal differential if they want to win Group C and secure a First Round bye.

Club de Fútbol Deportivo Cotopaxi returned the favor to FC Cackalacky and won the evening game after falling to Cackalacky this afternoon. Cotopaxi's 4-2 win clinches a transfer spot, although the Group D winner is still up in the air. They control their own fate with a tie or better against Real TK, who was eliminated by this evening's result. The final game between Merchiston FC and Cackalacky is essentially a play-in game, with Merchiston holding the tiebreaker in case the game ends level.

Rushmore FC clinches a First Round bye and carries Space Olympics into the playoffs with it by virtue of its 4-1 road win against kangaroo fc. The roos couldn't keep up even though they were gifted a 1-man advantage in the 14th minute when Italian defender Massimiliano Vignaroli went stupid and got himself ejected. From that point, Rushmore actually outscored kangaroo 2-1. The result eliminated kangaroo from its first Cup based on goal differential tiebreaker.

We now have 9 out of the 12 spots spoken for. Knockout Round seeding should be calculable in the next day or so.

Overnight, Lowestoft FC could not improve its playoff seeding as it falls 2-0 on the road against FC Kingston. The result closes Group F play and denies Lowestoft the #5 seed. Kingston closed very strong but had dug too deep a hole.

The lone game this evening is a huge one, as Merchiston FC and FC Cackalacky battle for the remaining transfer spot out of Group D. Merchiston, who holds the tiebreaker, only needs a tie. Cackalacky is win and you're in.

One other note. I sent a reminder sitemail to F.C. Baltimore Blue on the 31st and it has gone unopened. The deadline will be tonight for those remaining Group A games to be scheduled. When I wake up tomorrow morning, if the games are not there, they will become 0-0 forfeits. You can read the tournament rules as to how the situation will be handled but I'll explain in detail tomorrow, if nothing changes. Let's hope they get scheduled at the last minute, since the playoff future of three teams depends on them.

No magic run this year. Tough break with a red card in the one match-up. Oh well. Thanks GoMiami for organizing the Tournament. I'll be following to the end!
