Do you completely re-pick franchises and start at zero - or are you only able to keep 5 players for your year 5 team?

If it's the latter, I'll join - if the former, I'd need to think about it more.

I love the idea or restructuring every 5 years - but allowing to still keep core players if that's how it's set up.

Also for the draft - are divisions based on RL historical divisions, or based on how teams are aligned in league? Ex. I choose Cincinnati who in 1970 were part of the NL West, but due to other teams selected - in this league I am placed in the NL East. In year 1, would I draft from the AL East or the AL West?

Thanks!

Year 5 will be conducted exactly the same as Year 1 with the exception of franchises will be drafted in Year 5 not first come, first served. So, in Year 5 you draft a franchise and can roster up to 5 players from that franchise in advance of the draft.

If the divisions do not balance all by themselves then there will be some degree of realignment. Your franchise would then draft from the division you are assigned versus the "natural" division.

Maybe I missed something--certainly a possibility---but wouldn't there be 4 drafts with 5 teams (or 6 drafts of 4 teams if we reach 24 teams)?

Correct
Please bear in mind that your draft position is related to other teams in your division more so than the league as a whole.

Mike - you are on the right track with the exception of Rookie players. The rookie draft pool is open to any team.
