Okay, good to know. In the past I had heard 10%, but when I played guys an extra 10% they would be fatigued. I like it that you have the math to back it up.

Chewy's logic is great, but it only partly explains his playoffs wizardry. BTW - I tried to create a playoff sized roster of minutes for the 45 mil year - only problem was not making the playoffs.

Yeah, but I always end up in several overtime games. :)

I am in favor of a minimum minutes requirement no lower than 19,200 although I prefer it to be higher than that.

Sometime next week, I'm planning on hosting a video chat where anyone interested can get on and talk about BOWIS 2024. We can discuss any changes to leagues we may want as well as the tanking issue. At the end, anyone on the chat will be able to vote on what we talk about and those will be the rules going forward.

Still have to figure out which evening is going to work best, but please offer any suggestions as to conversation topics we may need to address.

Here's an idea: on this call have raggedclaws announce what the 5th Theme is going to be that the champion gets to pick.

I personally was fine with the auto draft but I know several owners didn't like it and a few owners that didn't play in this BOWIS because they were
not down with the AutoDraft theme. Disclosing what the winner picked theme is going to be may create some excitement around making sure we get
24 committed owners again in the next BOWIS?

I loved the autodraft personally. I’ll be honest the 23/24 draft is making me not want to join. Especially the way the position % are today drafting just isn’t fun. I assume people disagree but I’d personally like to see the new season draft removed.

Just an idea: what if (current year) draft was replaced by the era? Like 21-24? That way we get “healthy” versions of all modern players to pick from

Congrats raggedclaws and many of the owners who were successful. I hope I can join the video, my feedback will be that the old BOWIS included an attempt at different skills including drafting, theme builds, etc. This BOWIS felt like a test of the best drafters with a pretty big emphasis on cap drafting/building. Like 5 versions of the ODL. I believe most of the best owners feel like drafts are the way to go and theme's end up with a lot of the same players/teams - which I get. I'll think on some ideas, but my feedback would be less drafting. I don't want to re-hash the draft position thing, but draft position felt like it could be an advantage to those who are not very experienced drafters.

The best times for me would be Friday night (the 5th) or whatever time Steelers-Ravens isn't on the 7th - my brother and I got tickets to see the Steelers in Baltimore, but it turns out they don't announce the week 18 schedule until after week 17 ends, which is annoying when we're both 1+ hours away from M&T Stadium. I guess I could also do Saturday night after 10pm ET.

I'm not 100% sure what the fifth league will be, I liked autodraft but am also receptive to jcred's feedback. I do favor the idea of expanding the 22-23 draft to cover 1-2 more seasons. With no clones.

If I ever win, which I highly doubt, bank on it we would have an All ABA 1967-1976 Draft!!! :)

I will be hosting a video chat this Sunday evening at 9 PM EST to discuss BOWIS 2024. We will discuss all 6 leagues from last season, whether they should be kept as is/modified/cut, potential rule changes, etc.

imo 45 and 55 or something similar are essential to bowis. I loved the banned.

franchise isn’t my favorite but I understand why it’s one of the 6 and I’m fine with it.

I just think wis wasn’t made for single year leagues especially now with no centers. I’m 100% against a 23/24 draft.

imo playoff tanking should be addressed either with a notification that players will be rested or a point deduction or I guess both if you don’t notify.

I would say you run the 23/24 draft, but with one caveat that could be done a couple of ways:

1. Round one or the final round is a wild card round where you can draft a player of your choosing from any point in league history.
2. One spot is made available for any player you choose (you could end up with 8 people having a 66-67 Wilt)

A few leagues I remember in the past that were fun, or interesting:

1. The countdown league (one player in the 9.99M-9.0, one player in the 8.99-8, and so on)
2. The Poison Pill league (every team gets one piece of sim poison that they must start and play all of their minutes - think AI, Isiah, Cousy, etc...)
3. Create Your Own Theme League (everyone has to announce their theme in this league and be 100% beholden to the rules ie. I did this once and I created the Cornbread, Earl, and Me team. So Monroe, Maxwell, and players that had the name Eric, Michael, or Malone...my full name feel free to find me on LinkedIn...everyone on the team had to fit into those strictures.)
