That isn't in the Bible, and the more you talk, the more I wonder what kind of people you hang with. My guess is they do not have your best interests at heart. As for your 'firey drafts' ..I have heard most of them for the last 45 - 50ears, so not good to waste your time.

You can be set free. Even today. I hope you will think on that, rather than ponder what to 'throw back' at me

I don’t think that there will be enough Oscars to go around for Oppenheimer.
What a story about a noble genius conflicted about the past and present and the future…tortured about the bomb - would it open Pandora’s box or would it be the end of war or would it lead mankind into the abyss. He had the responsibility of a president on his shoulders.

I have always been conflicted about the use of the bombs on Japan especially Nagasaki ( ironically the Christian Japanese city ).
I cannot come around to calling Truman great.
Leaving the first bomb aside, he was after the second bomb either a great commander in chief or he was a merciless mass murderer.
Japan was already defeated before either bomb but especially before the second bomb.

I think maybe the movie will inspire some more thoughtful debate in the real world where the future is history.

Truman was not a good President. While I hated FDR's domestic policies, he was a fantastic war President.

Japan lost the war on December 7th, 1941. Not because they declared war but because they went after the ships at Pearl Harbour instead of the base itself. Had they knocked out the shipyard, submarine pens, oil facilities, etc., the US would have had a much longer recovery time since the Pacific fleet would have had to base out of either California or an inadequate allied port in the South Pacific. That would have bought the time the Japanese needed to turn their conquests into military assets. Think Guadalcanal. Two more months and the Lunda Point (Henderson Field) airbases would have been finished. We would have had a hell of a time taking it.
