OK, so just know that this was only my 2nd non-progressive league Chip and, while I would say I am an above average owner, I am certainly by no means an "expert" in the likes of a chewy, benhoidal, raggedclaws, or etc.. But I am a die-hard fan of WIS and maybe it will be refreshing to get a layman's opinions/observations? And, maybe chewy and some others will chime in to confirm, deny, or opine on some of these blurbs so we can maybe all learn something. Here goes:

1) Copernicus---I actually won my 1st Chip with Gilmore as my Center (but he fell to me in the 4th Rd in the ODL). He has a lot of seasons to choose from and paired with the right players can be very effective. It's juvenile, I know, but I am not a fan of Zach Lavine just because it's almost sacrilegious for any other Guard for Chicago to have comparable Offensive #'s to Jordan. Realistically, I think his lack of D (and his TOs) is a big negative. I like Siakam and almost think maybe the sim has his rebounding %'s too low. Mason Plumlee seems to be a popular sim pick lately but I am not sure you are using the right season of his (chewy?)? I did not have a great experience with Lowry the one time I drafted him. You have Lebron so this team isn't going to be terrible but it looks like you may have run into Cap issues which is unusual (to me) in the $52. You have 6 players under 50 on D. I think this is about a .500 ball team.

2) Uptowngbv---Wilt the Stilt!! Great start. You broke my heart when you selected Chandler, but even though I dreamed of him sliding all the way down to me in the 3rd Round, he's not who I woulda picked in your shoes (Haliburton would of been my pick). D. Mitchell is an ok pick and I love me some Montrezl. I do think Beal and De Russell were mis-fires and both probably would of been undrafted. It will be interesting to see how you round out your team but I think this is another .500 ball club, thanks to Wilt.

3) dakjd---You ruined my whole draft board by picking Looney in the 5th. I really needed his Rebounding since KD doesn't know what an Offensive Rebound is and it totally screwed me. It was a GREAT pick for you, though. I know Jokic's recent season he is 100 at PF but I am not sold on him at that position for some reason. This was a solid draft all the way thru and I know that you wanted to retract your 7th Rd pick of Brook Lopez, but I bet you with his 90D and efficiency that his lack of rebounding won't kill you. I am interested to see how he performs with the big boys. I actually think this team is going to be better than you may think but in the end, your high fouls may catch up with you. 1st Round playoff team.

4) 24kpyrite---I am not a good enough owner to get the best out of Giannis and to pair him with the right guys. I tried once and it will be a long time b4 I try again. Respectfully, I fear you are going to be saying the same thing. I love Elton Brand but he's a SF and isn't Giannis a SF when you play him at his best spot? I think you have him at PF, maybe I am wrong? It just seems to me that you got a hodge-podge of guys and the last 3 you drafted you didn't have to draft to get them on your team. I would love to see Brandon do well for you at PG but I don't know if it will work as well as you may hope. Just shy of making the playoffs.

I'm taking the penalty and using the 98% 21-22 Jokic at PF (I wanted the usage, mins, and rebound boost). I hated the Brook Lopez pick right away because I forgot my roster makeup at the time and forgot I was playing Jokic at PF so now I have a 96% Lopez playing backup PF.

5) ysw128---so I failed to mention that I (an owner with only one previous CHIP) won last season with Steph Curry at the 3rd pick. He was right there and you and others passed on him?! Not that I don't like Shaq, but I think the last couple of owners missed a great opportunity. Big fan of Kyrie. Not sure if the rest of your picks will all be good fits? But, holy cow, your team has almost 6000 Rebounds!!! Can't wait to see how this turns out. I see you rounded out your subs with the high minute good LoBall season. I like his lower minute 78 D season better and think you could have gotten a better return by using that one and taken the leftover $ and improved your other bench players. I really am struggling to get a feel for how this team will do...I'll say they sneak into the playoffs but exit in the 1st Rd.

6) ronsouth1---you lucky son of a gun, Steph fell right into your lap. Fantastic pick, fantastic player. Walton is solid. Others are down on Magic and his high TO's but hey, it's probably one of the few times he slipped thru to the 3rd Rd, so who can complain? I can. You already have your PG, let Magic go. You coulda had Pippen, Camby, Kessler, Marion, or Vucevic. Not a wise choice, but man wouldn't it be awesome if Magic and Steph killed together and made me eat my words? Would love to see it and I would be happy to do so. Bobby Jones is solid. Your last 3 picks: Willis Reed, Dirk, and Mullin are non-traditional picks. I am rooting for you and them except when you play me but I am not sure the Sim feels the same way? Still, I think you can slip into the playoffs.
i agree about steph as i was a bit surprised to see him there. as for Magic it came down to him and Pippen or Marion but i just wanted to try a backcourt with steph and magic. i liked jones versatility i will play him primarily at small forward. it came down to reed or mel daniels/bob lanier i opted for reed because of his defense and minures. with a frontcourt defense of 100, 100 and 93 i hope to stay competitve in most games. dirk and mullin help provide 2nd unit offense and some 3s. will it work who knows but it is an experiment i wanted to give a try.

8) Steelers821---very solid draft. Me, personally, I do think #8 is a little early to take Robinson. I think he's more of a 12-14 pick but he's a fantastic player. Barkley slipped a little and was a great pick. I wonder if you would of passed up on him if chewy would have taken him? That woulda been fun watching an MJ-Barkley tandem. Pippen is a defensive specialist and not a bad pick, but maybe a little early in the 3rd? I also prefer one of his better Steal seasons than the one you are using. I see what you are doing. The last 2 seasons of the ODL benhoidal has taken K.Love and hid his Defensive woes by surrounding him with higher Defensive players. Ah so grasshopper. I think that strategy works better in the ODL where the talent pool isn't as great. I really like De White but he has underperformed for me. This is a very good team and should advance past the 1st rd in the playoffs.

9) Midge--- I LOVE this draft. However, history has shown that Simmy doesn't like Draymond. Isn't it crazy that Donyell Marshall is a better player in the Sim than Dray? It's just not right. But, maybe you will have better luck. Dwight Howard and McHale sound like a formidable combo. Kidd, Dray, and Otto all offset McHale's DReb liability. Pau Gasol is a nice backup in the front court. You know how much I love Bogdan, but I prefer him in the ODL. My experience has been that he is a little outclassed in the $52. I would of liked to have seen you try to find some more offensive rebounding on your bench. Still, an excellent team and should advance past the 1st rd in the playoffs.

Yeah my first few picks were a hodge podge. I am using the 100D Giannis at PF and Brand at SF. Tatum is coming off the bench. I am not sure i have enough assists and i will struggle with boards when Tatum isnt on the court at SG/PG. Looking back, Steph would have been easier for myself to build around and I probably should have taken him.

My creb% on my projected starting lineup is 157.9 for the Jokic team so I hope that makes up for the out of position penalties a little bit.

Yeah Robinson was a reach. I wanted Jordan and I’ve already used KAJ plenty. I’ve actually never used drob and I’m excited to use this season. Barkley and drob provide a lot inside scoring so I made sure from this point on to draft 3s. At least by Adp Pippen was right in like with where he goes in the 52. I believe I know the season you’re talking about but I just prefer this one. Less usage, higher efg, lower turnovers and more 3s. I think Loves defense will be an issue but not a big one. I have a lot of people that can cover him and he can play 5 positions. Im using white on one of my savage teams and yep he’s certainly underperforming. Idk how much to read into that though. Overall my defense is pretty average but with a lot of flexibility. Most of my stats seem pretty average to above average in most categories. I think this team can at least get into the mid 40s but hopefully higher.

thanks for the review and good luck!

Educational too.

It seems to me that I have players underperform more than I used to and it makes me wonder if it’s because people are paying more attention to defense now. If everyone has better defense than on “real” teams shouldn’t we expect players to underperform?

One of the fun things about several of the draft leagues is that we get the evals, which are usually very well written and always appreciated.

50 is supposed to be net neutral defense. The 52 averages defense in the low 70s normally So yeah in this league especially but I assume in most leagues players should underperform unless your assists are above average.

I also assume that having an all paint team will underperform against -1 - -3 and vice versa for perimeter teams

10) ty84moss---initial reaction is I am very impressed with this draft. The more I study it, the more I can get nit-picky. I love the Kareem pick at #10 and you are playing my favorite season of his. I love Dr. J in the 2nd Rd. (I am very sour on SG's and their performance for me in the $52. There's only 5 (6 or 7 on specific occasions) that I will even draft in the 1st 5 Rounds (MJ/Kawhi/Dr. J/Butler/&Pippen--& K. Anderson if I have Steph at PG/ Looney if i am desperate for rebounds and I have drafted C. Wood with intention of him being my SG but inevitably he ends up playing more SF). The rest are not worth a pick to me in the 1st 5 Rds imo (and that includes Paul George/Tatum/Ginobili,etc). Dr. J is worth it. Not sure I would have picked Kessler as it looks like you will have to play him out of position at PF most of his minutes.Donyell Marshall is ok. He's a very clean player. (I probably would of gone with Marion or M. Porter in the 3rd & Mobley/Noah in the 4th) I am curious, were you hoping M.Porter would slide to you in the 4th? He almost did.I know Kemp has a label of a turnover machine but I like him. That 100D is nice to have. Drexler is a great pick. The one weakness I think you have is the PG position. I know that when you draft Dr. J, you feel like you are having to chase 3 point shooters hence probably the Donyell Marshall pick and then Tyus Jones. But once you got to near the end of the draft without a PG, screw it, don't even draft one, or take a Kyle Lowry. You can always cobble together a serviceable PG with a combo of guys that haven't been drafted (LoBall/Ge.Hill/Nate McMillan/Mark Price/a lower minute Tyus Jones, etc.) All this nit-pickiness aside, this is a very good team and should advance into the Conference Finals.

great work rifton - 1 small riposte: coming under 20000 minutes isn't necessarily a bad thing on the whole cap issues front

11) rjk---skipping til he enters his full team.

12 )Gerryred---I loved your 1st 5 picks! It's going to be awesome watching K.Malone and Duncan on the same team and what a fantastic 3rd Rd pick in Marion. May be the best front court trio this season? I, personally, would have picked someone else in the 4th and took a chance of Brent Barry falling to me in the 5th and Poeltl falling to me in the 6th and if that didn't happen, improvised. But, your 1st 5 Rounds were great. Oh boy, trying not to be mean, and you and I have already texted about this, but Derek Harper was a very bad pick under the circumstances. Brent Barry is your Point Guard and by taking Derek Harper you took any possibility of having a Rebounding advantage and turned it into a huge disadvantage. Henceforth your team, while still very good and probably better than my team, only has @ 4500 rebounds. I think you still have a shot at making the playoffs as your 1st 5 picks were so good.

Thanks, I got you and I agree. It mostly means you have a better team. I just thought you may have a little overabundance of low Defense backup players if I recall correctly.
