yea...every combo i was coming up with ended with "well ill be short on 3s...."

lillard will probably be a 1/2 turn staple from now on so hes your 3s option there

love your start steelers...always been a fan of the barkley/mchale combo

Yeah I know Lillard and Holiday went early but I quickly looked at both and never really thought they belonged this high.

I've used Lillard the most times and I have him firmly in the middle of the 2nd. I have Holiday as a 3rd rounder. But we talk about player rankings here all the time and I disagree with top coaches on a lot of people. I think I also have people like Ben Wallace and other people who frequently go at the turn in the 3rd. So take my rankings with a grain of salt, I am not a traditionalist. I think someone like benhoidal or raggedclaws probably have better rankings.

Idk how you guys make such definitive rankings. After like 16 or so it’s all about fit for me. With bowis auction after 16 I basically just ranked people off of versatility.

I really don't start worrying too much about fit until much later in the draft.

Well general “fit” early on. I’m not going to draft two guys who are bad defenders, low in rebounding or efg.

With Lillard and Holiday going like they did it forced me into taking Payton early. I know I am going to need versatile defenders who can give me other benefits.

I don't know about you guys but I feel like Rob is looking over my shoulder when I am drafting and shaking his head with disapproval. There were two other guards I was considering here, but I felt that Payton was my go-to and I was concerned that with this run on guards I should scoop up Payton before I was in the position I was in last year at point guard (the patchwork quilt of Rondo [boo], Porter, and PetBev).

When they zig, zag. If almost everyone tries to draft the same way, it’s going to hurt everyone who does so. Trust your gut. It’s only a reach if that player would’ve made it back to you on your next pick. Just my $.02

I’m usually shaking my head in disapproval at myself. “You only drafted 11 3s between 5 teams try again” “stop sugar coating it those rebounding numbers suck”

Also I was thinking about this and I know everyone’s hesitant to change, I am to I love this league as is, but have we thought about an ABCABABA or maybe ABCABBABABABA draft order?
1-6: 3 crowns
7-12: 2 crowns
13-18: 1 crown
19-24: 7 crowns

Draft slot has really nothing to do with success at this point. It has really no correlation. The only thing that has proven to be a correlating factor with regular success in Savage so far is the coach. The same handful of people are regularly populating the top five and top ten regardless of where they draft.

Fair just a thought.
