Do players ever decline option + re-sign cheaper? Topic

Haven't played this game in a while. But I recall in the early stages players would sometimes decline a mutual or player option, and then be willing to re-sign for a lower price before hitting the open market.

Is this still a thing?

Yes, and sometimes you can decline their option and they will resign.
