Real Life Reverse Split = SIM Reverse Split? Topic

If a player has a reverse split in real life will it translate to SIM? For example, if a RHH hitter hit righties at a .300 OPS higher clip than LHP should I consider playing him more against righties or does the SIM just see L/R and ignore actual stats?

No. All players are assumed to have a standard platoon split

Real life splits are not factored into the game in any way. A batter facing a same-handed pitcher gets a standard platoon penalty mentioned by contrarian above. It was known to be 4.5%. A batter facing an opposite-handed pitcher gets instead a 4.5% boost. Switch-hitters are always neutral.
