Our first available Franchise gives prospective Owners the challenge of winning the team's first World Series. Coming off 5 consecutive losing seasons, that challenge won't be easy and will require a dedicated Owner to rebuild the Franchise into a contender.

The Big League club includes several solid players but lacks star talent and includes too many AAAA players to be truly competitive. The good news, only three players are making above the minimum. All three players are on team friendly deals, making them interesting trade chips.

The AAA team features a handful of players that could be called up this year. However those players, much like those on the current ML roster, profile more as ML backups. One bright spot in the minors, Derek Pettyjohn, who isn't likely to stick at 2B but has a power bat that will play well in the outfield.

The next Owner will need to determine if a long rebuild is on the horizon or if they want to use available cap space to create a competitive team in the near future. Either way, an Owner who is looking for a multi season challenge is needed.

Our next available Franchise was in the World Series just three Seasons ago but found itself at the bottom of the standings last year. Trades and FA signings that helped the team reach those heights have left the Franchise with a depleted farm system and albatross contracts. The next Owner will need to be patient in their rebuilding approach.

The ML level is filled with talented but declining players. Former MVP Jose Schoop is still a plus hitter but his days at SS are well behind him. Similarly, Yasiel Santiago can be a #1 SP but, like Schoop, comes with a $20 Million price tag. In addition to those two massive contracts the roster includes 6 additional players over the age of 30 making $5 Million or more.

The minors league teams lack any star prospects and need an Owner that is willing to invest in rebuilding them. Last year's 1st Round Pick, Chris Counsell, is probably the best prospect in the system but isn't a sure fire ML prospect.

All of that sounds really negative and is likely to scare off some prospective Owners. For those up for the challenge of taking this roster and turning it into a contender in a challenging World, good luck!

Our last available Franchise finished with a 44-118 record a season ago so the new Owner really has nowhere to go but up! Prior to last season the ML team had posted 5 consecutive winning seasons and many of those players are still on this roster. Whoever takes over this Franchise will need to determine if a full rebuild is needed or a quick fix via FA can get this team back to it's winning ways.

The ML lineup features several solid hitters, including a potential AS in Hector Chavez. While the bats are solid the same cannot be said for the defense. Last season the team finished with the 3rd worst fielding percentage and a league leading 87 negative plays. Finding capable fielders at SS, 2B, and CF will be key to this team's success. The pitching staff isn't much better and finished at the bottom of the league in ERA and WHIP last season.

The books aren't terrible and will allow the next Owner some flexibility in their approach. Five players are under contract this season and four others are up for arbitration.

In the minors, their aren't any prospects ready to be called up but it is littered with former ML players that may get a second chance in the bigs. A review of previous drafts shows a mix of busts and prospects traded away. The next Owner has a lot of work to do here.

With relatively clean books and a handful of good bats, this team is a great opportunity for an Owner to start over put their stamp on this Franchise!
