Can we play the players drafted from the boxes in alternate positions or do we need to play them in the position they were drafted?
Also, do we have to draft a season at that position? For instance Pete Rose is in an OF box. Do I need to a) draft a season Rose is eligible at OF and b) play him in the OF?

There are no restrictions on how you manage the team. You can take any eligible season of the players in the boxes and use them however you want. You can take any Rose season (up to 1980) and play him wherever you choose.

Yes, you must use a teammate from the season of your player from the box. In this case, yes, if you use '27 Ruth then you'd need to use '27 Combs (or anyone else from the 1927 Yankees).

You won't be allowed to use any seasons prior to 1920, regardless of who the player is.

We did use players in the boxes who had several seasons in the selected range, though not necessarily all their best ones. You've got plenty of choices still.

It's a real bear to try and make it all work.

I find myself tinkering less and less the more tournaments I take part in. Some are fun to research and try different combinations, but for some of the more tedious ones, once I put together a balanced roster that uses all the cap space, I just stop and roll with it.

Yeah, I had a really great team, but the players in the boxes were poorly chosen given the years restriction, so it's not going to work. I'm going to save that one for the end now and see if I can get it done again.

I didn't think it was that hard to build a team. If you copy/paste the player grid into a spreadsheet, each time you add a player to you roster, simply highlight the row and column that corresponds to that player. As you add more players, it makes it very easy to see which players are still available to you.

Safety tip on the $110M theme:

If you (like I did) decided on your Warrior first, keep in mind that you won't take another player from that season as one of your pitchers or hitters. I foolishly built a few rosters without remembering that and am now in the process of adjusting them.

Not sure if this was ever discussed during the creation of the themes. In the 140M theme, is it any ballpark, regardless of what year the park was in use?

We said Any, so I would say regardless of year. I think since it's not tied to anyone on the roster, it can be an older park.
