Since award season was just announced I thought it would be fun to create a theme based on the annual MLB Awards.

Select an exclusive season between 1983-2025 and create your team from the award winners from your season.

We will start with 1983 because that was the first seasons of the Manager of the Year award which will be an important building block.

League rules

• $120 million cap
• NO: AAA, clones, injuries, minor leagues, trades, or waiver wire
• YES: DH
• Use home park of any player on your roster
• 24 team league with standard playoff format
• Divisions aligned by season

18. NL MANAGER of the YEAR

Complete your roster with players from the teams of the MANAGERS of the YEAR. One additional GOLD GLOVE AND SILVER SLUGGER award winner from either league, not both, will be allowed.

In the event that the same player won multiple awards, select as many players as you need to fill your roster from the Manager of the Year teams.

2025 Shohei Ohtani won NL MVP and NLCS MVP so you can use him as a pitcher and hitter

There have been a couple instances where more than 1 player won the same award: 2017 NLCS MVP for example, so you would need to have both players on your team.

I was thinking about the Roberto Clemente, Lou Gehrig, Hank Aaron, Fred Hutch awards but a lot of those are duplicates and don't cover the timeline of the seasons used.

For the most part yes, unless the same player won multiple awards like 1992 Dennis Eckersley for example.

I don't think you can clone a player from the same season?!

Ben- is it mandatory to roster each award winner from the list ?? Puts constraints on my team, rostering multiple position players (multiple 3rd basemen, for example , at a steep price …I know we have DH, but I’m running into multiple instances)
