Regarding late picks....
ESIEV2507 was a last minute sub to replace "extrateam" when we started.
As of this morning, only one person (me) is eligible to exercise their later pick from the Cubs. I will do so before 4pm, which is when mllama54 would be eligible to do pick #8 regardless. If I had to pay for a 3rd team to make sure the league happened, I would, but we are at least a couple of days away from really having to think about that.
I'm not worried about having a super weak team in the slot. I suspect the only lagging team will be up to date by the end of the day. But I recognize that they seem farther behind because some of us are 4+ picks ahead of the schedule.
Toward the end of the draft, we should discuss if the current pace, which is accelerated from FD4, should accelerate even more. We could do 3-4 picks a day from the beginning - or perhaps have day 1 be gentle since it is super important and accelerate starting day 2. This league was 1 pick/day when it started in January 2024, but has sped up nearly every time.
