19-0, RPI 1, ranked #1.  Welcome to your season 50 D3 Top Dog.  If the prop bet was out there for the NT champion, I'd doubt you'd get better than even odds playing Sports Book Dynasty.  Brennen is a ridiculously good G; Williams is ridiculously good; Gilland is ridiculously good; Kopec is really, really good and they all have ST to burn.  The depth is also there; enough that the tournament brings a legit dilemma.  Does Rogue play uptempo to expose how his reserves are better than most others or rely on the fact that his starters are clearly the best top 5 in the country?  Time will tell, with a 2nd ring in the balance.  The future is also bright with John James' RS FR 588 overall rating highlighting that fact.  His triple digit improvement is ridiculous enough to overshadow Adams' 94.  The future of Davis who looks high reb/LP does look dimmer than the rest of his cast.  That Larsen appears high ATH/PE makes it look like more than petty Larseny to have kept him from D2.

13-7, RPI 49.  Last year I said "there are enough pieces here to contemplate a PIT run next season" and here we are.  Yanks has assembled a quality squad; not enough REB/PE to run with the big dogs of the CAC South, but enough to get the prestige up to the level to get the players who potentially can.  The interior D is notable, particularly at the expense of mediocre BLK ratings.   The one FR has almost not improved at all this year which is par for the WE=1 course.  The profile plays, but with his likely offseason degredation, Son of Thor may become Son of Cut as soon as next recruiting cycle.  Baptist's FT rating deserve a notice.  You just won't get to see that many F's without seeing Charles DeMar's high school transcript.

9-11, RPI 79.  Tougher times on The Hill.  It'll be interesting to see his close and if options can rally his team for the 2-3 more W's he needs for a PIT berth.  I don't get the eschewing of 3 point shots; with a nice set of Gs 4 guys I would have at +1, you'd think he'd gain by let some more fly.  The Wise men inside provide a nice present and future.  It'll be interesting if the Wise man will pass any gifts onto the Chestnut Carpenter to help him lead The Hill's flock next year.  Carpentar should be awl up to the challenge, particularly if he can squeeze another 5 points of ST out of the rest of this year and the offseason.  Not to Munday morning manager too much, but I like Shabazz and Munday for long term and think Chestnut Hill could be Culver's City if options would let him fire it from deep and continue to pick up ST points at a healthy clip.

11-10, RPI 15.  Interesting team.  The 3 SR bigs are all have elite skills and with the interesting JR Jones make a formidable big rotation.  Fort is really good and heading to an overall 700 rating as a SR.  Peck almost looks like a pre-potential G for his well rounded skills.  McVay is another NT quality G with a huge REB dividend.  Definitely an NT capable team, though one that might be the first top-20 RPI team not to qualify.  The two SimAI noncon losses are inexplicable and has left a mark.  The future is interesting since he's returning all but the 3 big bigs, but they represent all his 55+ REB.  Maybe the REB from the G's help make up for that, but there isn't enough ATH, I don't think, to be as good until some more REB enters the reservation.  The FR don't overwhelm; I like Brooks as the right piece of "help now" 4th G with some G skill upside.  The Duffman (Oh Yeah!) seems like a decent low-level, well-rounded SF (like my Franklyn German) with the advantage of a monster LP rating.  Ware is the big with the skills to make VJ-RIP Ware's house with high LP and REB potential.  Meanwhile, his frontcourt mate will likely wear out his welcome, with a low REB/ATH combo and not much improvement so far this year.

11-9, RPI 23.  This is the borderline W team most likely to get to the magic 14 wins.  Hood still has the horses to make a run in the dance due to mad PE/LP skills and enough DE/SPD/ATH to force 20+ Tos a game and hold their own on the boards despite mid-level rebounding.  The pieces are there to simply reload next year, though the team's top PEs will be low enough to cramp eyetest's style.  Note the Nogglian improvement by Mr Smith Goes to Fredrick.  No ATH/REB upside, but a high enough starting point in both to put a 750 OVR rating in the realm of possibility.  THe FR bigs very good, but there is no future Harrison in the crowd.  Stephens' LP improvement is particularly notable, another case of a low starting point "Sky's the limit" report paying off quickly.

19-2, RPI 22, ranked #6.  Odd scheduling (3 noncon games vs 320+ RPI teams) leave this team underrated by RPI.  The starting 5 is solid (Goulette is the weakest link by more than a close shave; he's not the best a man can get), driven by the 4 SRs who are all among the elite at their positions.  The future is in reasonably good hands though the drop off from Simpson and Battle will be enough that the good season vindication will drop from a final 4 run to a S16 one.  The only FR is weak on D, but should end up with 65-70 on SPD/PE/BH with a little upside beyond that from a monster WE and a RS season.

Are these the right beginning of the year average numbers?  I assume that is supposed to mean our average before we sign any freshmen?  I don't actually remember what mine was, but it seems suspicious to me that most of these numbers are very close to what our current average is........ except for Salisbury and Gallaudet which are significantly lower. Maybe it's just coincidence.

its going to be tough to outperform by 3 wins this time, since I already have 2 losses.  Did you finally code a MW adjustment?

so it was doing a lot better with me until the walkon season and then blew-up again last season probably due to being young (4 uppers) but really good low rated sophomores.  this and next year, we are almost guaranteed to underperform.

Predictions weren't too bad. The big ones off were SMM and Gallaudet. Looks like the predictions over value rebounding in the current engine.  Which I think is also supported by my teams of the previous two seasons where I had the best rebounders, but under .500 records. I ditched those 95+ rebounders for more versatile players and finally outperformed my projections this year.

OK, finally was home for an evening with the laptop.  Transfered the rosters file from earlier and brought in year-end stats.  Posting the year-end stats below.  Also improvement from game 9ish last year to end of year this year (116 points for James, btw).
