and clicking on "Get It Now".

Can I play through a firewall?
If you are connecting through a firewall, your firewall must allow a connection to
IPAddress 199.193.9.73 and port 8080.
Please contact your network administrator to see if this is possible.
top
I am having problems with loading the applet. What should I do?

Why does it say "I have been logged in at another location"?
You may only be logged in once with Head2Head. If you get this message
then it means you have been logged in at one instance, and then somewhere
you have tried to log in again. The old instance will be logged off and the
new one will remain active. If you receive this message and you did not log in
again, then it may mean someone else is logging in as you, and it is recommended
that you change your password. Please, do not give out your password to anyone.
top
Why is it sitting on "Validating login..."?
If the applet sits there with "Validating login..." in the status
bar for more than around 30 seconds, chances are there is a problem
with the servers and Head2Head is unavailable.
This may also indicate that you are having problems connecting to
the servers. This may be due to a faulty internet connection or
a firewall blocking access.

How do I join a game?
After entering a venue, there will be a list of games within that
venue. If a game is available, you will see a "click to join" link
in the game display. You can join as either the home or visiting team.
Once you click the link, you will be taken to the "pre-game" screen, where
you will make settings necessary to start the game, such as selecting your
team and setting game options. While in the pre-game screen you will still
be able to chat with other people in the venue. You and your opponent
will be taken to the private chat room for the game, once the game has
started.
In order to play a game, you must have a valid subscription.
top
Can I reconnect to a game after I have been disconnected?
Yes. You can reconnect to any game that has started and is not final, providing
the game did not crash on the server. After being disconnected and logging
back on, you must enter the venue in which the game is being played and
you will see a "rejoin" link in the game display. Click that link and you
will see a "loading" page. After which, you will see the game screen and
the current state of the game. Note that it may take a few minutes to reload the
game depending on how much of the game has been played.
While someone is reconnecting, the game will be paused and anyone in the game
will see a message that the player is reconnecting.
top
Can I play against the computer?
Yes. Join a game as either the home or visiting team, and when you get
to the pre-game screen, click on the "options" button to open the options
panel. Select the "play vs. SimManager" option. You will then be able to set
the pre-game options for the SimManager.
top
How do I watch a game?
After entering a venue, there will be a list of games within that
venue. You can watch any of the games that have started and are not
final. If a game can be watched, there will be a "click to watch" icon
next to the game display. After clicking it, you will see a "loading"
screen. Once the game is loaded, you will see the game screen and the
current state of the game. While watching a game, you will be in the
game chat room and be able to chat with the players and other watchers
in the game.
top
What are those brackets around a person's name in the game display?
When someone disconnects or leaves a game, that person's name will be displayed in
brackets on the game display in the venue.
top
I do not want to play with the person that joined my game, but he won't leave. Can I get rid of him?
Yes. If you are the person that joined the game first, you can remove anyone
that joins you by pressing the "boot" button in the pre-game screen. You can also
exit the game at anytime. Leaving a game, or being booted from a game, will
place you back in the venue.
top
Why doesn't my chat work? I can see other people chatting.
In order to minimize chat traffic, we only allow players who have made a purchase
from WhatIfSports to send messages. This is basically the same rules as posting
in a forum.
top
How do I send someone a private message?
Head2Head chat allows you to send someone a private message through
the whisper feature. Sending someone a "whisper" message will display
the message to them, and only them, and can be sent to anyone logged in,
meaning the person does not need to be in your current chat room.
The syntax for the whisper is:
/w [username] [message]
OR if the username has a space, use this syntax:
/w [username]: [message]
You can also right click on a user in the user list and choose the
whisper option to have the whisper syntax automatically filled with the
username in the chat area.

Can I cancel my Subscription?
You can cancel your subscription at any time either through the
website here or by contacting customer support.
Once marked as cancelled, your subscription will remain active until
the next billing period. At that time, it will become inactive.
top
Do you store my credit card information?
No, we do not store credit card information. We process the subscriptions
based on the original transaction. This is also why we do not have a
way to change the credit card to be used for your subscription, but
we feel the added security is worth it.
top
Can I change the credit card used for my subscription?
Not at this time. Since we do not store the credit card information,
we must use the original credit card provided.
If you need to change the credit card being used, it is recommended
that you cancel your subscription and then after the 30 day period,
re-subscribe with the new credit card information.

How long does a game take to play?
The time that a game takes to play depends on the game speed option
set in the options panel. The player that starts the game is able to
set the options.
Typical game times are:
- Fast = 10-15 minutes
- Normal = 15-20 minutes
- Slow = 20-25 minutes
The actual time played is affected by several things - time taken for
substitutions, high scoring games, and extra innings to name a few.
top
How do I make a substitution?
To make a substitution during a game, click the "sub" button. This will bring up two tables with
an "Insert into Lineup" button between them. The upper table shows the current
lineup in their current batting order. The bottom table shows all available players. Select
the player in the lineup table that you wish to be substituted for by clicking on his row. Then
click on the player's row in the bottom table that you wish to bring into the game. Hit the "Insert
into Lineup" button to complete the switch. Depending on the situation the lineup will show PH,
PR, or the incoming players position. If you wish to change the PR or PH to a position or move
outfielder to different outfield positions, use the POS button.
Once you have the lineup set, press the "Set Batting Order" button and this will
signal the change to the game engine. If you wish to cancel the substitution, press
the "Exit" button and you will return to the game. You must have a valid lineup when
taking the field (i.e. all positions must be filled) or the substitution will not
take place.
The game will be paused while a player is making a substitution.
top
What is that "arm %" for the pitcher?
The "arm %" number is a relative number for how tired the pitcher is and
how well he will perform compared to his regular stats. As this number gets
lower, the pitcher gets more fatigued and is less likely to perform at his best.
This number changes after each batter.
top
How can I see the players' stats?
If you press the "Roster" button, you will see tables for both teams'
rosters, which shows the batting and pitching stats for all players.

How do I play a SimLeague game with Head2Head?
You must be signed up for a regular SimLeague, and the season must have
started. You can only play against someone that is also online.
To check if anyone is online from your SimLeague, click the
"SimLeague Challenge" button. If any games are available to be played, they
will show up in the challenge window. To challenge an opponent for a
particular game, either double click on the game in the challenge window
or right click on the game and choose "challenge".
The user you challenged will have to accept your challenge for the game
to be played.
As soon as the challenge is accepted, you and your opponent will be placed
into the new game.
NOTE: If you are currently in a game when the challenge
is accepted, you will be removed and placed in the new game.
top
What SimLeague games are available to play?
The SimLeague games available depend on the settings for the league. The default
setting is to allow any game that is scheduled to be played at any time.
This is limited by the transaction deadline date so that games scheduled
after the deadline cannot be played until that date is reached.
Theme SimLeagues may choose to allow only the next scheduled game to be
played or allow any game. Open SimLeagues will be set to allow any game
to be played. EXCEPTION: Existing Open SimLeagues before Head2Head was
made available were set to allow only the next game.
top
What happens when I play a SimLeague game Head2Head while the regularly scheduled games get simmed?
If the game you are playing in Head2Head gets simmed regularly while you are
playing, then the simmed game is the one that will count towards your standings
and the Head2Head game gets wiped out. This also means that your fatigue levels
will be calculated from you simmed game, while your Head2Head game will have no
effect on fatigue.
If you are playing a different game than the one that is scheduled,
then both games will count towards your standings.
Be careful when playing Head2Head SimLeague games while the regularly scheduled
games are being simmed. This could potentially throw your pitchers' fatigue
out of whack. Fatigue will be calculated correctly, but it may leave your pitchers
in a state that is undesirable. It is for this reason that we do not recommend playing a SimLeague
game Head2Head while you have a game that is being simmed.
top
Someone just challenged me. How do I accept it?
To accept an Issued challenge, either double click the game with "Issued" as
its status or right click on the game and select "Accept Challenge".
As soon as the challenge is accepted, you and your opponent will be placed
into the new game.
NOTE: If you are currently in a game when the challenge
is accepted, you will be removed and placed in the new game.
top
Why did a challenge that I issued disappear?
There are two ways that challenges will be removed: by disconnecting or joining
a game. When someone disconnects, or closes the applet, any challenges that they
have issued, or have been issued to them, will be removed. Also, when a player joins
a game, any challenges that they have issued will be removed. This is to prevent a
player from inadvertantly being removed from their current game when a challenge
is accepted.
top
What happens to my team if I get disconnected?
If you get disconnected from a SimLeague game that has started, the SimManager
will take over your team and play the game the same as if it was a
scheduled SimLeague game. It will make all of the decisions on when to
sub and when to take specific actions the same as it usually does. The only
disadvantage is that your opponent still gets to react to plays within the
game.
If you disconnect, the game still counts as your SimLeague game.
top
How is fatigue affected?
When you start a Head2Head game, your current fatigue levels will be used,
regardless of when the game you are playing is scheduled. After the game,
your new fatigue levels will be calculated the same as if the game had been
played regularly. Note that this could possibly affect your next scheduled
game, so you may want to check your team management settings after each
Head2Head game.
top
Are AAA players included on the roster?
Players that are in AAA, or have been sent down, will not be on your roster.
However, any prospects that you have moved up will be available.
top
Can I use one of my SimLeague teams to play a non-league game?
Yes. When searching for a team, select "user created" or "all" from the Team
choice box to have the option to use one of your user created teams.
