You (bad_luck) are one stupid person.
Negotiated suspension: ARod accepts lesser suspension, waives his rights to appeal. Over and done.
Non-negotiated suspension: ARod is given a much harsher suspension (perhaps a lifetime ban). He appeals. Lawyers, arbitrators, a lengthy and ugly process that continues to be played out in the media. A distraction that continues to overshadow the game on the field.
Which one is better for MLB?
Not sure why you always go with name calling. If MLB wanted this to be quick and easy, they'd offer a 50 or 100 game suspension. But they're going for a lifetime ban.
You seem to think that ARod's case should be handled like everybody else's case, i.e. it's "PED only", and he should be subjected to just a 50 or 100 game suspension.
It's not. His offenses goes way beyond PED use, if we are to believe all the reports. That's why the Biogenesis case and impending suspensions need to be classified in two categories: ARod, and everybody else. And that's why ARod is (presumably) being subjected to more severe punishment than everybody else.
The name calling is warranted because you're either being deliberately stubborn in refusing to acknowledge that ARod's case is not just "PED only", or you're not mentally capable enough to understand what's being reported and the implications thereof.
