We were only at 11% yesterday. Phillies lost the first game of a DH today and the Reds are down four in the seventh!

Hey Jim! Do you have a picture of a dead cub, or has it already decomposed?
Where did you find that

Here ya go, Jimbo!! Cubs suck again!!

DES MOINES, IA - The Memphis Redbirds are headed back to the Pacific Coast League playoffs but it was not easy in a 7-6 win over Iowa Monday afternoon at Principal Park.

The Redbirds and I-Cubs battled back and forth for the fourth time in four days until the ninth inning when Mark Hamilton hammered a home run over the center field wall to give the 'Birds one final lead. It was not over there, however, with Iowa putting the tying run on third base before Josh Kinney nailed down his 17th save of the year. Hamilton led the 'Birds with three extra-base hits and the game-winning home run. Allen Craig and Daniel Descalso added two hits each. Jason Dubois hit two solo home runs to lead the I-Cubs.

Memphis reliever Adam Reifer earned the win in his Triple-A debut turning in a scoreless inning. Hung-Wen Chen took the loss allowing only Hamilton's home run in his two innings of work. Redbirds starter Evan MacLane allowed six runs, four earned, on seven hits over five innings.

The Redbirds begin the defense of their 2009 PCL crown Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. with American South champ Oklahoma City at AutoZone Park. The 'Birds will host the RedHawks Wednesday and Thursday night before traveling to Oklahoma City. For playoff ticket information call 901.721.6000.

Yeah, Ryne Sandberg is already getting practice for his future gig as Cubs manager.

I thought trading away Brett Wallace and giving $120mil to Matt Holliday was supposed to bring an auto-championship to St Louis? What happened? And I thought that awesome trade for Mark DeRosa would still have lingering awesomness effects on this season and add 5 wins to our total. What happened????

Law of averages finally caught to y'all.

As much as I'd like to see him stay here for his entire career, I gotta tell ya...if I'm Albert, I'm outta here.  I've got a feeling that LaRussa will be gone after this season (good), along with Duncan (boo).  I don't know how close he and Tony are but if Tony's outta here, I don't think there's jack squat making Albert want to stay here - other than that "one team for your whole career" scenario.  Yeah, he's got his foundation - but he can do/run that anywhere.  He's already a superstar - if he hits the major markets, he's gonna be a Mega-Star (at the height of his career, as well).  Can you imagine the bidding war (assumed) between New York and Boston if he hits the open market?  I actually think Boston would go in the shitter outbidding New York for him.  I gotta tell ya, Albert in Fenway Park would be something to see.

Again, I hope he stays here in St. Louis, but I sure don't see the odds stacked that way.

How did the Deadbirds stay in the race so long with this horsedong team?
9/14/2010 10:09 PM
Because there are 4 other horsedong teams in the division.
