That was one of the best games I've ever seen, and not just because of the great outcome. Both teams made great plays, and close calls made the difference on the wall shots by Ibanez and Utley. And Halladay vs. Carpenter was all it was hyped up to be. It was reminiscent of the night that Joe Frazier beat Ali with a 15th-round haymaker.
I hope the Cardinals finish well, and TLR then announces his retirement. He's had a good run, but I'd like to see a fresh approach in St. Louis.
And I hope Albert finishes well, too, but I've stopped worrying about whether he'll leave. The Cardinals have a strong lineup without him: Furcal, Theriot/Punto, Holliday, Berkman, Craig, Freese, Jay, Molina, and the return of Wainwright.
Finally, keep Jackson and trade Westbrook.
