Although despite the last 2 wins and the 7-2 record I really gotta say that the Jets are not as nearly as good as I thought they were a few weeks ago. They really can lose to anyone. The Lions and the Browns really gave them all they could handle and the Jets could have lost both games easily. Its good to be alittle lucky.
Also -- Mark Sanchez is really getting better every week.
TP...
As a Jets fan, of course I am hesitant to believe that they are as good as 7-2 would indicate. However.... anytime you win twice in 2 weeks ON THE ROAD in OVERTIME... You have to give that team credit, whomever they played. The Lions outplayed the Bears on opening day and lost on a bad rule (but a good ruling). They outplayed the Packers, and lost 28-24 (to whom we lost), The Brown (as pointed out before me in the previous post) SOUNDLY beat the New Orleans Saints in New Orleans. Then they SOUNDLY beat the New England Patriots. They wonj both games by TWENTY. Championship teams find ways to win games where they are not playing their best game. Even on the road in the NFL. The Jets were outplayed by Denver, and found a way to win. They were outplayed by Detroit for 54 minutes, and found a way to score 10 points (doubling their game total) in the last 5 minutes and win in OT, Against the Browns, they were not outplayed (in fact we outplayed them). Give Cleveland credit for hanging in there (especially during the opening drive of the 2nd half where the Jets had a 23 play 12 minute drive asnd scored no points). The Jets however, found a way to win.
I know you dont like Nomar.... but I think he is pretty rational, and objective. Ask him if he thinks the Jets are legit.
I dont like the Patriots, and he doesnt like the Jets. But I will admit for YEARS the Patriots would get outplayed and find a way to win the game. So much so that I would mutter to myself calling them lucky bastards, But I know they werent lucky. It happened TOO OFTEN for them to be just lucky. They found ways to win. Championship teams do that. It has happened 3 times this season for the Jets. Denver, Detroit and Cleveland. Anything can happen once. Twice could be a coincidence. Three times is a pattern. The Jets are good. Very good. Their two losses were to Baltimore and Green Bay. Two playoff teams. And they were more than competitive in both of those games. They are undefeated on the road. The Jets are a very good football team.
