The Patriots are awesomely good right now. They are the only team the Packers should fear. The Jets, Bills, and Dolphins will finish 3-5 games back.

4-1 with a nice win vs nyj.
10/10/2011 6:58 AM
4-2 soon...this team has become so frustrating to watch

the play calling sucks, the tackling sucks, McCourty SUCKS......they make so many mistakes that they never used to make...

Brady, record setting pace for yards and all, seems like he has never played worse

in short, we've been spoiled for a while, but now they play just like every other average to decent team in the NFL

*phew*

luckily, #12 is just that good that he can pull something out of nothing.....

his INT rate is still a bit on the stunning side, but a W is a W.....

Step off that ledge eds.

D is starting to look like a playoff type D.  I mean, they stopped a high powered Dallas offense.

Lets see......  on 10/16 at 6:58pm, Ed says (and I quote) "Brady, record setting pace and all, seems like he has never played worse" while watching him play Dallas.  Then after crying, and wiping away the tears, watched Brady throw a game winning TD, and at 7:26pm of the SAME DAY said (and I quote) "Luckily, #12 is just that good that he can pull something out of nothing.....".

As a Jets fan, who has watched his team lose game after game since the 1970s that they should have won, and now watched the Patriots win game after game that they should have lost, I ask.....  HOW CAN YOU QUESTION TOM BRADY?????   EVER????   At his worst, he is better than 70% of NFL QBs.  At his average, he is better than 80% of NFL QBs.  When above average, he is better than all but a few.  When at his best...  well...  Aaron Rodgers maybe?   I mean...  come on, Ed.  Do you know what you sound like when you complain about TOM BRADY?!?!?!?!?

You sound like that hot supermodel who complains because she is fat.  I am sure that every woman within earshot of her wants to punch her in the mouth.  Well, every NFL Fan who hears a Patriot fan complain about TOM BRADY likely has little to no sympathy.  lol

well, know for sure that whatever I may say from day to day....there is no doubt that I fully realize how fortunate any Patriot fan is to have Brady on the home team side of the field.....Mt Rushmore of QBs, the way I see it.......

however, ever since Buffalo, this season has felt like a bit of a grind for him.....maybe something isn't right with him, but he just hasn't had that typical groove until that last drive on Dallas (although, some of it may be this recent trend towards 'balance' that limits how much groove he can actually get into)

brady's just running bad on interceptions after running really good last year.

he's had a uncharacteristically bad pick or two, but a lot of balls are just getting tipped and falling right in defenders' arms.  i remember during his non-INT streak last year, there were a lot of tipped balls that just missed getting picked.  so as far as i can tell the primary difference this year is that they are ALL getting picked.

I agree with Dean.  I said it last season when everyone was gushing over his 4 interceptions.  I said no matter WHO you are, you make WAY more than 4 mistakes in a season.  His just arent getting picked off.  It takes more than accuracy to not get picked off in the NFL.  This season, Rodgers has thrown maybe 4 passes that should have been picked off.  1 of them was.  His other 2 interceptions were almost pinpoint perfect passes that somehow his receivers didnt catch, and the deflection was an easy pick. He has also had about 3 more easy catches that werent caught, got deflected, and with 3 ball hawking defenders drooling while trying to dive and get to the ball, fell just short.  The last scenario happened A LOT to Brady last season.  This season, they are all being caught for interceptions.  There is little to nothing wrong with Brady.

What I saw in the Dallas game was what I saw against Cleveland last year, and in the Jet playoff game last year from him...  As he has gotten older, he likes getting hit hard less and less.  He never used to shy away from a huge hit.  He would stand there, and deliver, and take a huge hit.  Now he sorta hurries the throw and avoids contact.  The more you hit him in the game, the sooner he starts to hurry the pass.  Luckily for New England, most teams dont have the personnel and/or coaching talent to get to Brady often enough to make it a constant problem, and thus I can point to like 3 games out of a season and a half when it has happened.  But it never used to happen.

But I am a Jets fan.  I can complain about Brady.  LMAO   No NE fan should be heard complaining about Tommy Boy.

Edso wouldn't have a reason to exist if he didn't complain about absolutely everything in the world though.

The nasty hit to the knee will do that too ya.

I have ZERO complaints with Brady.  Most of his picks this year have been either tipped pass (i believe 2 in Buff were tipped and 1 in Dallas) and/or being hit while passing the ball (1 in Dallas and i believe the one vs Jets).  I think the reason why we won vs Dallas was because of Gronk.  He is an unbelievable blocker in both the pass and run.  You can see that part of his game has drastically improved since his rookie season last year.  He's giving Brady more time when teams are blitzing.

I don't compare this season to last for Brady....his season last year was UNREAL (and, yes, it helped that many balls that should have been picked were not--luck is good)

it's more of a feel thing.....he has just missed on some throws that in the past he would not have, forced a few balls into spots it wasn't going to fit in

not saying there is anyone else I would want there...just noting there is a slight dropoff

deano doesn't have insightful posts the way he used to....

i'm sure that's just selective memory.

when i think back to brady's 2010 season, i just think of how unstoppable the pats were the last 8 games of the year.  he made mistakes along the way but 1) i have a less vivid memory of the first 8 games because they were less awesome and b) any mistakes he made over the course of the last 8 are forgotten because the pats won by so much.

so naturally you're going to have a rosier memory of past results which ended favorably for new england as opposed to current ones where you're more sensitive to any error as you're sweating out the game on a weekly basis
