I hate Cutler with a passion, but the above is correct.

If JOSH MCCOWN outperforms you, you are not fit to start an nfl game. McCown looked pretty good against the Pack, but that was one game. Have you seen the guys track record?

A logical decision is get a cheap backup who can actually play QB at the high school level. Joe Webb is a guy I'd love to have as a backup, but I'd also consider Mike Kafka and John Skelton. They all come cheap. Heck, even McNabb would be an improvement.

It's fairly obvious that back-up QB in the NFL means "guy who will sign for cheap and hold a clipboard" because it doesn't look like teams expect them to be capable players.    Manning can't come back and the Colts drag Kerry Collins out of bar instead of using Painter.   Campbell is out and the Raiders give away the farm to get Carson Palmer.   The Chiefs pick up Kyle Orton when Cassell goes down.    The Bears decide to go with their back-up and we see how that worked out.   Looks like Houston might have figured it out after a couple of stinkers.

That's pretty accurate.  Nobody pays for a backup anymore, so the only teams that have good ones are those that are successfully grooming a "QB of the future" for themselves or to trade.

unlike Bears fans with a QB with no heart or leadership skills,im willing to look beyond the box and make bets without rose coloured glasses on..though i will be hoping the Packers repeat it will be tough getting by Brees and the Saints...

I can see this happening.

The only problem I have is you saying Rodgers isn't the best QB out there. Brees is without a doubt top 2 or 3, but I think Rodgers' streak of 100+ QB rating games contradicts your point.
