How do you not like Spikes? Kid plays with an amazing amount if passion. Love watching him out the. He's the biggest difference to this defense.

I'm not a fan of any of these four teams. The Pats got lucky today - I realize you're a homer who doesn't see that, but that's fine.

Both the Niners and Giants have the defenses to do what the Ravens did (maybe even better), and they have much more efficient and consistent offenses - they will shred the NE defense.

It'll be nice watching Brady lose another Superbowl to Eli. I'm sure he and all the Patsy fans will be doing plenty of crying in two weeks.

Congrats on your impending Super Bowl victory Pats fans.  Not because I think the Pats should be the clear favorites or anything, but when JT is this vocal about anything, bet the house the other way.

well, for starters, he was a dirty player at Florida and I wasn't pleased to take him on.....he is pretty slow for a LB and he tends to over celebrate even the most mundane of accomplishments....in general he is a weak link in pass coverage (not yesterday, I get that), although he is a solid run stopper


a healthy Mayo is the biggest difference on D....when he is at 100% it allows everyone else to be better because offenses put extra attention on accounting for him

but, on Spikes, I am a big fan today....


as for the game, it was good fortune that the FG was missed, but the Patriots were not "lucky" to win that game....it was not luck that Evans doesn't make that play, it was a play made by Moore.....it was not actually luck that the FG was missed because it was forced to happen that way by a defense that MADE THE PLAYS


maybe it was lucky that Harbaugh brain cramps and rushes his kicker out there instead of calling a TO so he can get himself set up more on routine....but the outcome was not luck, just the result of a close, hard fought battle.....

incorrect.....what the Ravens have is size at corner which allowed them to match up with the stud TEs of New England better than anyone else can.....the Giants are not strong in the defensive backfield and will have a MUCH harder time slowing down the passing game

NYG has a great pass rush, but it won't have the same effect with the short game working so well these days.....

Evans clearly caught the ball and had possession in the air.  Right foot came down.  But just as his left toe made contact with the ground, the ball started to come out.  Since the rule is that he has to maintain possession "all the way to the ground", and his left foot had not fully come down, I think the ruling was probably correct.

I don't think it would have been overturned on review (no matter how it was called), but how the hell does the officiating crew not review that play.  Embarrassing that they didn't at least look at it multiple times from multiple angles to make sure it was correct (or at least not enough to overturn the call).  Clear flaw in the review system when they don't look at it.

Cris Carter is pretty obnoxious but he had a pretty good take on the play(without really saying catch or no).    He said the only thing Evans should have done was cradle the ball and go straight to the ground.   Anything, like a hand or an arm, is caught in there and either has to be pulled out or drags the body to the ground.

Agreed.  In a Championship game, on a bang-bang play at that point in the game, you gotta review it.  I'm surprised that more is not being made of that.
