I was actually put in the unenviable position of having to root for the New England Patriots Sunday. Dont get me wrong. I'm a Jets fan first and foremost. And I don't like the Patriots. In fact, I get more satisfaction from watching the Patriots lose than any other team except for the Miami Dolphins (hatred goes back to the Griese and Marino days)............. and the NY Giants.
Sooooooooooooo..... watching the Giants and Patriots in another Super Bowl made me want to put my head in a toilet and flush it, because in all reality there was no positive outcome. Either Brady was going to win, and I would have to listen to all the sports heads talking about how he was so close to Joe Montana and the best of all time, and how this Patriot team making 5 Super Bowls and winning 4 of them puts them among the Steelers of the 70s and Niners of the 80s as best teams of all time..... OR Listen to how Eli Manning took the hated Giants to a Super Bowl after a 9-7 regular season and beat the Patriots again. I decided that the best outcome would be to not have to listen to the obnoxious Giants fans. I'd rather have the Patriots win and endure that torture rather than the Giants fans' torture because I think that the Patriots are more deserving of the praise and attention for what they've done than the mediocre 9-7 Giants, who if they played in ANY OTHER DIVISION would not have made postseason.
But alas... nothing went right. The Jets sucked *** with a sham of a QB who would be better off being a full time GQ model than an NFL QB, the Packers lost to the Giants. Then the 49ers choked away a Super Bowl appearance at the hands of the Giants, and then the Patriots choked and threw away a chance to end the game with 5 minutes left and the ball with the Giants having only one timeout. Three and out from that point, and Eli won the game making me puke in my mouth a little. OK. A lot. I hate the ******* Giants
