St Louis landed two studs, with its best recruiting class yet under coach Chapelhillne. Missouri Mr. Basketball George Winer was persuaded to stay in his own back yard, ten miles from his Hometown of Town & Country Missouri. This was the first 4-Star player recruited at St. Louis under the term of Chapelhillne, and possibly the first one ever. Mosher, the other player that coaches are high on, is a 3-Star recruit from Iowa that has huge potential. The third player, David Serafin, has good potential but will be more of a defensive specialist and probably a backup for most if not all of his career at St. Louis. The team spent about $1,000 on him. This year St. Louis had a "B" prestige.

George Winer  - #15 PF, #58 Overall, 4 Star, Missouri Mr. Basketball: Town & Country MO  Overall 709 Rating.
Athleticism 86 Low   Perimeter 21 High
Speed 45 Low   Ball Handling 56 Low
Rebounding 74 Average   Passing 45 High
Defense 73 High   Stamina 64 High
Shot Blocking 68 Low   Durability 41 Low
Low-post 71 Low   FT Shooting   High
He is High-High in PE, so if he can build that up he should be a great scorer. The 86 Ath and 73 DEF with High potential is huge. He was only 10 miles from me, which I think discouraged Minnesota from making a strong run at him.

Paul Mosher #27 PF # 98 Grinnell, Iowa  Overall 633 Rating
Athleticism 67 Average   Perimeter 52 High
Speed 28 High   Ball Handling 26 High
Rebounding 68 High   Passing 39 Average
Defense 79 Low   Stamina 70 High
Shot Blocking 62 High   Durability 41 Average
Low-post 52 High   FT Shooting   High
He might end up better than Winer because of the higher potential. 67 Ath is really nice to start with too, and he should end up in the 90s in REB. he is high-high in PE and BH. If he is high-high in LP and PE, look out. He could be in the 80s or 90s in both. And he should be pretty fast, probably around 50. He and Winer may be high high in other areas. I didn't do many scouting trips. Kansas State was on Mosher early, but I had a distance advantage of a little, although he was still 250 miles away in Iowa. I did like 15 CVs before 11 PM and after that he was only considering me.

With Winer, even though his potential is not that great, he starts at such a high level. Both should end up in the 80s and 90s in stamina too, which is great.

David Serrafin #66 C  Cincinnati, OH 551 Overall
Athleticism 66 Average   Perimeter 33 Low
Speed 21 Low   Ball Handling 27 Average
Rebounding 69 High   Passing 12 High
Defense 51 High   Stamina 70 Average
Shot Blocking 60 Average   Durability 56 High
Low-post 36 Average   FT Shooting   Average
His main drawback is speed because we run the press. 21 is slow. But he will be a very good RB, and good defender and has good ath, and he only cost me $1000. His scoring ability leaves a lot to be desired.

It's only my 3rd season at St. Bonaventure, but I think this will be a good class for us.  Robert Hammond is the highest ranked player I've ever been able to land as the #19 PG.  He's a JUCO but is coming in as a soph, so there is still plenty of time for him to hit his potential.  I needed some depth for my bigs, so that's where I focused most of my effort after locking up Hammond.  Capra should be the best of the bunch of those three - I was able to take him from out of nowhere on the last cycle before signings as Minnesota was locked up in battles across the board.  My money was going to be wasted anyways since I was taking at least one walk-on, so I went all in and got him.  This is our haul with the D+ prestige hinderance...

Robert Hammond - #19 PG, #130 Overall, 2 star, Soph JUCO - 634 OVR

Athleticism 43 Low   Perimeter 84 Low
Speed 77 High   Ball Handling 73 Average
Rebounding 8 Low   Passing 79 Average
Defense 49 Low   Stamina 84 Low
Shot Blocking 1 Low   Durability 60 Average
Low-post 14 High   FT Shooting   Average

I wish his defense was at least average, but have to take what I can get with the D+.  He should wind up with mid 80's BH and low to mid 90's in P, so combining that with the mid to high 90's speed, he should be a great offensive PG for us or could slide over to SG depending on the matchup with his good PER rating.

Rodney Capra - #98 C - 534 OVR

Athleticism 45 High   Perimeter 14 Average
Speed 26 High   Ball Handling 11 Low
Rebounding 63 High   Passing 13 Average
Defense 57 High   Stamina 58 High
Shot Blocking 72 Average   Durability 34 High
Low-post 67 High   FT Shooting   High

He's high-high in ATH, REB, DEF and LP, which is just awesome to go with his 74 WE.  I'm going to be possibly starting him since this season isn't going to be a huge success for us regardless.  I'm building for next season and hoping to have a shot at the NT two seasons from now, so he should be approaching his max potential by his junior year I'm hoping in those four core categories.  I dropped 25 CV's on him out of nowhere on Minnesota - didn't feel good about doing it from an ethical standpoint as I usually shy away from that sort of thing, but I know it's part of the game and can be useful, so all's fair until the player is signed.

Herbert Jurado - #75 PF, #284 Overall - 562 OVR

Athleticism 41 High   Perimeter 44 Low
Speed 30 High   Ball Handling 28 Low
Rebounding 59 High   Passing 15 High
Defense 44 High   Stamina 73 Average
Shot Blocking 38 Low   Durability 57 Average
Low-post 79 Average   FT Shooting   High

He's high-high with his ATH and DEF.  I wish I could say the same for his REB, but he should still wind up with low 80's there and low 90's LP, so he'll be a good big to pair up with Capra in a few seasons.  I'm hoping he'll take a RS, but it's not the end of the world if he doesn't.

Alex Scott - #80 C - 542 OVR

Athleticism 58 Average   Perimeter 11 High
Speed 19 Low   Ball Handling 16 High
Rebounding 70 High   Passing 37 Average
Defense 46 Average   Stamina 57 High
Shot Blocking 75 Average   Durability 55 High
Low-post 28 High   FT Shooting   High

He's high-high in LP, PER and REB, so I picked him up planning to use him as a backup for Capra/Jurado, which I think he'll pull off nicely.  He'll probably make for a better PF, but we'll see.  Again wish the DEF was high and the speed was at least average, but I needed the big depth and he was my best available option that I wouldn't have to battle a big six school for.  He signed for a little over $1k, so no complaints given that.

Well this was a just good enough year for UR.  Will be interesting to see if it's just enough to get back to the NT this year.  UR missed out on the immediate star it sought and instead got 2 solid role players and 1 SF with the potential to be a mid-major stud.  UR tried a new strategy of going hard for 1 player, a guard, early and looking to defend him. It was working well at first, keeping Michigan at bay, but then OSU came in, with a 10 mile distance, A+ prestige, and 8 schollie openings and it was all over.  It was a large waste of money that put the entire recruiting effort behind the 8-ball. UR is ok with the recruits but the big question is now what to do with the inevitable 2 walk-ons.  1 possibility is to offer scholarships to both to keep the open year next year and the extra recruiting money heading into a big recruiting class.  The other is to just let them go and take the extra recruiting year.  It will be a late season decision (if the conference looks to make some NT noise and get extra money, may well sign the walk-ons).  Most likely, though, we'll take the 2 scholarships for next season and target 1 stud player with the 2 scholarships.

PG - Charles Wolfe - FRESHMAN
Ath: 65 - high
Sp:  58  -high
Reb:  15  - l
Def:  50 - avg
SB: 1 - l
LP: 3 - l
Per: 57 -avg
BH:  41 -h
Pass:  41  - h
W/E:  31 -
Sta:  59 - h
Dur:  64
FT:  62  - high

Wolfe will be a solid backup guard capable of contributing at PG or SG (or SF in a pinch).  Defense will never be high enough to be starter worthy (assuming a solid roster) but with very high ath and high speed plus very high BH and good Pass, he will be able to contribute

C- Neil Kelley - JUNIOR (but an academic ineligble so actually has 3 more years left potentially)
Ath:  57
Sp:  30
Reb:  77
Def: 51
SB: 83
LP: 55
Per:  16
BH:  46
Pass:  19
W/E:  43
Sta:  61
Dur: 90

Kelley is actually one we scouted and recruited 2 seasons ago but lost out to NC State.  NC State decided to let him go and he came to us cheap.  IIRC, he will still be high in Ath/Sp (caping out in upper 70 on Ath) and LP and should hit 90 on rebounding with 60+defense.  Again, solid contributer off the bench for 2-3 years

SF - Richard Stehle - FRESHMAN
Ath:  66   -h
Sp: 40  - h
Reb: 34 - h
Def: 82 -avg
SB: 29 - low
LP: 10 - high
Per: 46  -  low
BH: 27  -high
Pass: 21  - high
W/E: 50
Sta: 65  -high
Dur:29

Stehle has the potential to be a stud.  It required a battle with a sim but it was worth it.  The biggest question with him is if his LP can get high enough to matter.  All of his high categories are high-high, so he will hit 90+ ath, 69+ speed, 60+ rebounding, and defense should hit 90+.  Assuming he doesn't leave early, he will be a nice anchor junior and senior years.  Any scoring he contributes will be a plus.

It was an uneventful recruiting cycle for Temple highlighted by the return of Eddie Jones to Temple.  Not only is it great irony that Eddie Jones is back on campus but he also has a unique combination of categories and eventually will find minutes at both Sg and Sf.   The second recruit, K. Bradley is not exciting but has agreed to a redshirt and should be a pretty interesting point guard prospect with an added season of development.

You'll get them eventually but Kelley is avg in ath and LP, which is one of the big reasons I let him go.

I see that now (figured he wasn't a star or you would have kept him) but sadly, if he hits 70 Ath, with his near 100 rebounding, he'll still be a very good role player for my team
