Gotta believe Tangradi is riding the pine when Staal returns. But who do you sit when Asham is healthy? Adams perhaps? Also which d man out of Lovejoy and Engelland do you  sit? Both bring different aspects to the table. Love Lovejoys positioning, but I also love Derek's willingness to fight and overall toughness in front of the net. It is at least a good problem to have. I know it is early, but can you say Letestu for Rookie of the year??

It certainly will be interesting to see what Disco does with a full, healthy lineup.  If Tangradi is the odd man out, he needs to to down to WBS and play, and given he has lots of waiver options left, I assume that's what we'll see, barring him turning into Kevin Stevens between now and Staal's return.

Engelland has blown me away.  I had no idea he was such a tough customer.  I think we'll see a rotation there, as Orpik and Michalek will both eat lots of minutes, so the third pairing may not get much ice time no matter who it is.  But what a blessing in disguise those blueline injuries are turning out to be.  The more minutes the other guys play, the better they look.

I say we have some fun with the lines now.  They mentioned last night that Letestu is getting work in practice learning the wing.  It certainly seems he could wind up there once Staal returns.  Would it be crazy to try some combo of him and Crosby and Malkin together?

Letestu-Crosby-Malkin (though that puts both guys on the off wing, wonder how Malkin would handle the left side)
Kunitz-Staal-Comrie
Cooke-Talbot-Kennedy/Asham
Dupuis-Adams/Rupp-Kennedy/Asham

Godard

You're right, odd man out pretty much has to be Tangradi.  Unless they are ok risking losing someone on waivers.  Actually, with so many scrappy guys willing to drop them and the emergence of Engelland, is there any need to keep Godard at this point?

You forget how many times we play Philly kid. Gotta keep Goddard. While it would be a fun line to see Geno, Sid, and Letestu, there is no net presence and corner man on that line.
And in looking at your line combo's, perhaps Comrie would be the odd man out as well.

goddard is one of the most useless pieces of crap in the league.  he can barely skate let alone play hockey.  i was happy when he left calgary, followed by disappointment when he ended up in pitt.  it's fine to have a tough guy on your team, but he should be at least able to play hockey.  they should throw him on waivers and see if anyone is stupid enough to take him.  :>

Asham, Rupp, Engelland can handle the heavies.

Comrie, Talbot, and to a lesser extent Adams, Kennedy and Letang will drop em if needed.

I don't dislike Godard, I just think keeping him for just Shelley is a waste.  Any of the guys I mentioned could oblige Carcillo.

True dat. Especially in the playoffs, ala Talbot!

Nice gritty win last night. Nashville really impressed me with some good, young talent, especially on their blueline. It was great to see Letang get the GW. About time he started finding the net on those slapshots!

Nashville does it right.  They're that good and at the salary floor to boot.  Draft well and develop your own.  That's the way to go.

One of the more entertaining 1-0 games you'll ever watch.  Man, those Blues play a hell of a game.

Halak continues to haunt the Pens.

Where was Geno tonight?

Can we just decline penalties against us the next game? We have no speed to gain the attack zone with, and we have no plan once we are in. UG-LY game last night, after a great start. We need some serious coaching.
