While that's true, they're only 4 points out of 2nd in the West. Thats how tight it is.

Love it! It's a garbage goal because of a fluke bounce (and a nice backhand shot).... not because the hawks goalie was putzing around in the crease ;)

If you think that goal was because of anything a Detroit player did besides miss the net then that's hilarious.

Great win...and much-needed....tonight.  The only bad thing was the morons who decided to boo one of the best Hawks of the past 25 years on his night.  Chelios wanted to play here for the rest of his career, but the Wirtz family wanted no part of him and let him go.  So, of course, the retards decided to boo him.

Bickell has a wicked wrister.  He keeps getting space to get it off, he could really add some punch to the 3rd line or wherever he plays.

Hawks have looked really good the last two games. Could have had 1st row tix to the lak game but my wife didn't check her text messages until 6:10 after the game started. Damn her! Would have been a great game to be at.

I wouldn't go THAT far just yet. He'll have to find some consistency in the 2nd half before we can say he's a replacement for anyone...But I see him more as filling Andrew Ladd's role on the team. A physical presence, a strong forechecker and has the skill to chip in with some goals as well.

The guy I hoped would fill the Versteeg role is Stalberg.  He's faster and has a better shot.  His hockey IQ is above-average, but he doesn't have Versteeg's consistency. 

Hawks win again last night and seem to be rolling a bit. In the last 20 games, they've given up 2 goals or less 12 times. The lineup has gelled a bit, even with the injuries and Crawford has established himself as the starter. Once Kane and Hossa return, we should make a run at Detroit.

Too bad they still don't look like a playoff team!

Hawks win in dominating fashion over Columbus, 4-1.  Finally, the team is playing to it's potential.  Turco was very strong for Crawford, who missed the game while being sick.  Hossa and Stalberg returned, with Hossa notching 2 assists and boosting everyone's game.  Only 5 pts back of Detroit with two games out of hand.  The return of Kaner will be sweet.

Hmmm, the 4 games in hand they had a couple weeks ago has been reduced to 2 and the Hawks gained ground on everyone.

Too bad they're not going to make the playoffs.
