Toews just named NHL's 1st star of the month for February. He's solidly in any Hart discussion.

Andru, only the truly stupid think our goaltending is a weakness. The voters will see how great he has been. No other rookie is close.
No other rookie is close?!?!?!?! Do you only watch 1 team??!?!?

Bobs could push Crawford for the Calder over the next 20 games (especially when he hits 30+ wins).

Sergei Bobrovsky 24-9, 2.46 GAA, .918 S%, 2 Assists

Corey Crawford 23-12, 2.13 GAA, .923 S%, 3 SO

I agree Crawford has the edge right now - but no one else even close?!?! I think Skinner and Hall have had nice seasons as well and will have a shot at the Calder. At this point Crawford has my vote - but it's not like he is running away with it.

And andru - don't you know that the Hawks have no weaknesses in muddy's mind?

For challenging Yandle for the Norris, I thought Kris Letang might, but he's fallen off as well. It's interesting how many good players have had up and down seasons this year. I think it really speaks to the parity of the league and how every night is a battle. No more easy ones out there.

Where did I say the Hawks had no weaknesses?  Find that for me, please.  Until then, you're full of ****.

Crawford is easily the best rookie so far this season.  Bobrovsky is good, but Crawford is among the best goalies this year so far.  Those 2 assists you chose to include made me laugh, btw.

****. I had a wink by the 2 assists that mustn't of made the final edit.

Hawks up 5-3 in the 3rd.  This would be a huge win if they hang on.

2 months ago, they would have found a way to lose this one. The team showed alot of compete tonight in an important game and I thought Michael Frolik finally found his legs as a Hawk playing with Dowell and Brouwer. His unselfish play to give Hossa an empty netter to extend his goal streak speaks to the fact that he's fit in well in the room also.

I liked the Bolland/Bickell/Hossa combo too. They created alot offensively and were responsible in their own end most of the game.

There's not much else to say about the top line right now. They are playing lights out and have been arguably the best line in the league the last 3-4 weeks.

They seem like they've finally started to show up every night and it's making a huge difference. They have a chance to finish the week in the top 4 in the West which would be huge.

I would be somewhat scared if you fairies had any character and toughness left..losing Ladd ,Buff, Eager..come the playoffs if you make it'?  you will collapse like a puff pastry..anybody with a shred of hockey sense would concede that Buff crashing the net and getting into loser Luongo's head was the ONLY reason the Hawks got past Vancouver last 2 years

You are blocking the author of this post, randle44.

This is the best feature ever.  My IQ has stopped taking a beating every time I read one of these dumbasses posts.

Hawks destroying Carolina here in the 3rd with 3 quick strikes to go ahead 5-1.  Toews continues his run to the Hart Trophy by scoring less than a minute into the game and leading us to our 7th straight win tonight.  He also should get heavy Selke consideration as he's been great in his own end all season.  What a treat it is to watch him, and he's only 22.  He's already the best Hawks player of my lifetime and easily one of the best in the world.

Hawks have really raised the level of their game defensively and that's been the difference lately.  They couldn't have picked a better time to come together.

Actually, I'd prefer if they picked sometime around the beginning of April to play their best hockey, but yeah, this works too.

I think the difference is the emergence of the 2nd and 3rd lines. Bolland, Bickell and Hossa are really clicking and the Frolik line created some more offence tonight.

They're looking good, just gotta keep it up. Big game tomorrow as the Leafs are playing great lately and Turco is likely to start (I would think) in a back-to-back situation in order to give Crawford a bit of a rest.

if you lose to the Leafs ,that is just inexcusable..if they slaughter God's laughing stock ill give them credit..no excuse for losing to the loser Leafs..everybody beats those idiots
3/5/2011 1:06 AM
really? cause those "losers" beat the best team in the east 2 days ago.

I'm glad I'm blocking randle's retarded ***.  I can only imagine what idiocy he just posted.

A big factor in the recent surge is that we're rolling 4 lines all game.  By doing so, the top 2 lines can stay a bit fresher all game and it's showing, especially the top line.  Earlier in the season, we used a 4th line that featured both John Scott and Jordan Hendry....a totally useless line in all respects.  Guys like Johnson and Dowell have given us back some of the depth we've been missing.

Hawks in the process of DESTROYING the Maple Leafs on national TV up in Canada.  They're up 3-0 in the first and it could be 5-0 if not for two bad bounces.  This team is simply playing at another level than what they were earlier in the season.  And of course, Toews has yet another goal.

5-1 after two periods.  Hawks have scored 10 goals in the last 5 periods. This team has become an F-18, fueled with tiger blood and guided by Adonis DNA.
