I feel for chara. He has to be scared tonight. The habs are going to come after him with all their toughness. He has to have thoughts in the back of his head

"is subban going to dive yet again and fake like a girl to try and get me kicked out and suspended"
Naslund = Max
Moore = Chara
Bertuzzi = whichever Habs player is stupid enough to have revenge on Chara
You really are a moron, aren't you?

Bertuzzi's hit was a few orders of magnitude worse than Chara's. Bertuzzi was suspended for the rest of the season, and the playoffs, and if not for the lockout would have continued into the following season. Chara did not get suspended at all. For the record, I expected at least a 2 game suspension, and was very surprised that he did not get one at all. Still, even if he got 2 or 4 games, it does not even come close to comparison with Bertuzzi.

With all eyes in the hockey world on this game, if any Hab does something stupid, they can expect a severe punishment as well. Both GMs were warned last week to not have this game become a mockery.

It'll end up like the 1st B's/Penguins game after the Cooke hit last year. On Cooke's 1st shift, Shawn Thornton hopped over the boards, sought out Cooke, they dropped the gloves, and that was that. I expect the same thing will happen tonight. One of the Habs will challenge Chara to a fight early in the game, they'll fight,, and then they'll play a heated divisional game. These 2 points are too important to both teams to let it get away from them.

SAK I think you misundertsood his post. He wasn't comparing Chara to Bertuzzi. He was comparing the Moore hit on Naslund to the Chara hit on Pacioretty, which I think is valid if and ONLY if a hab steps up and does something similar to what Bertuzzi did.

Lol. That's about th only chance for retribution.

I highly doubt anything happens tonight out of the ordinary. There is only one hab that is stupid enough to do something retarded but I doubt subban will. Except maybe fake something

I think it's likelier that Shawn Thornton or Milan Lucic try and goon it up than the Habs. Here's hoping we see an actual hockey game break out tonight. If the score gets out of hand though, I hope the league comes down HARD on any player or coach who does anything even remotely questionable.

lol...yeah not a very good showing

I'm not a Bruins fan or a Chara fan for that matter, but I like them both. But take a second and just think about the pressure on Chara last night. If it's not enough just being the captain of the Bruins battling for a play-oof position, then with the whole Patch thing, he comes out and not only plays well, he's the most dominant player in the game. Talk about showing up. Love'em or hate 'em, its your choice, but if you truely know the game of hockey you'll agree that was an all-star performance.

1. The hit gets done 10 times a game every game, but this time there was a big honking chunk of metal there.

2. The hit never used to be done 10 times a game every game; it used to be called "boarding". You know, indicating that at one time, the boards were not to be used as a device to send someone into next week, rather it was where the ends of the arena happened to occur. Just like there used to be a penalty called "charging", but now it's ok to start from behind your own net and build up enough speed to start a collision that has the same impact as most car crashes.

3. This hand wringing would almost stop completely if boarding and charging were called as often as it used to be called in the 70's and earlier.

4. The NHL will not enforce it until someone gets killed, and then all of the sudden someone says "lawsuit". Witness; netting above the glass to protect the crowds. Book it.
Now that I've seen 2 weeks worth of reaction, I'm sticking with number 4.
Nothing is going to change until someone gets killed

Yep, until 'forced' to do something due to a lawsuit...they will not do anything that has any real effect!!   Look at the history of Bettman's NHL...
