STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS 2009-10 Topic

Well-deserved game 1 win by the Canucks. They have this series well in hand. The only way they lose this is if they beat themselves.

Its great that Toews can play defense and all - but as an elite player and leader - with under 6 minutes left and down 2-0 he should probably try and play some offense before the hawks end up losing.
I think he's actually created alot with Sharp and Kane in the last two periods. They've had chances and hit two posts...that said, almost only counts in horse shoes as they say...
execution.

the fact that not one teammate whooped hamhuis' *** after roughing up kane with 14 seconds left in the game shows a complete lack of toughness from the hawks.   Its game one - win something if you can't win on the scoreboard

Pull out some stats Andru..you have gotten onto almost everybodies nerves with your know it all stats and Hawks lovefest..that annoying poindexter that spends all his time pulling up stats trying to prove himself as superior...i dont even want to fight with u any more because its so obvious ur life is so pathetic

Honestly they can't afford it. With Bolland out, Sharp and Brouwer hurting, and now Johnson and Kopecky hurt as well they can't risk the injuries. That and the NHL has warned all the teams about late-game rough stuff. They can't afford to lose any bodies to injuries or suspensions.

Randle...listen very carefully...I'm only going to explain this once. Competitive sports games are decided by tallying up points for each competing team. The team with most points wins. Also, statistics of the players involved in sports are kept in order to have a measure of a given player's success. I know this may come as a shock, but these statistics can be found on an invention called the "internet". it's true! You don't need to know everything because you can find any information or statistic you want on this "internet" now...wow, what will they think of next?

And how do I have a Hawks lovefest? I picked the Canucks in 5 games...

They can't afford not too imo... had the hawks shown some backbone early in the game the kopecky and johnson injuries could have been avoided,  instead the canucks continued to torpedo their bodies at the hawks as the hawks played 'nice'.   at the very least keith should have drilled hamhuis at the end of the game despite the consequences just to show the hawks won't put up with it.

before you know it it will not be kopecky and johnson hurt - but toews and kane (who hamhuis was roughing up pretty good) will be next.  then what? its not like the canucks weren't targeting those two.

Hamhuis is nowhere near a tough guy , just a good stay at home defenseman ..I would let R,Johnson take every shot  if i was Canuck Management ..he is no scorer..if R.Johnson beats you with ANY goals so be it

priceless - here is a quote from muddy's blogger buddy john dated 04/12/11

Still, to my mind and that of a number of more astute observers than I, the difference in the last two playoff series between these teams was the Blackhawks overwhelming physicality, and one Dustin Byfuglien’s emergence as Public Enemy #1 in the Province of British Columbia.

And the Hawks have lost a lot of that physicality, perhaps too much.

blogger buddy john actually goes on to say the blackhawks have the edge in line and defensive match-up pairings over the presidents' trophy winning canucks in this series.

its no wonder where muddy gets his ludicris opinions from
