Guys, you realize your series is over now, right?  You can stop bickering and ignore each other til September!  hahaha
You're right. We probably won't have to discuss another Hawk's playoff series for 5 years.
I fleeced one sucker this season.  Care to bet on that assertion?

Yeah, I bet you don't!!!

Hawks fans don't get the concept of a goon either. Guys like tie domi and bob probert didnt just fight.... once on the ice they would target a player that 'wronged' a teammate and brutally check them, cheap shot them, **** them off, and then fight.

Scott just gets on the ice and expects the gloves to come off....doesn't work that way. Even that pos Jody Shelly on my team will check a few players before dropping the gloves.... can anyone even think of a time this season where Scott did anything on the ice worthy of a fight?

Oh, we get it.  We have had a nice assortment over the years.  Scott was pure suck.

Peter there's no bigotry here. If you can't see the difference between (paraphrasing) "They are a beatable team and they have weaknesses like any other team" and "They had no business being in this series. We dominated them and they were just lucky to get to 7 games" then there's no point in arguing with you.

As for understanding goons, I don't think you'll find one Hawks fan who actually likes John Scott. We've had alot of tough guys over the years that did their job to perfection and were fan favorites. My personal favorite was Stu Grimson. I don't get where the goon conversation came from though. I only stated that I thought Bieksa only fought Stalberg because he knew it was a mismatch. Kind of like for example Shawn Thornton grabbing Tomas Plekanec and pummelling him. What does that prove? Simply selfish and goon-like if you ask me.

I invite all Canuck fans to abandon the Hawks thread???

Only post in team threads if the team is STILL in the playoffs.  (in other words a team that is relevant to hockey lol)
I realize there is no PREDATORS thread, and we don't play the Preds enough to hate them yet.  But let's leave the Hawk fans alone now, andru, muddy and jimbob can discuss their team's weakness's amonst them selves.  We won, cause we are BETTER AT HOCKEY.

Bye Hawk fans, see you in September when you have hope again.

Regards

Juskay

Why would go to the Canucks board to say something nice and positive?

I'll start a Preds thread.

Well, that was a classic series and it ended the only way it could.

The Canucks showed alot yesterday. They came out and dominated most of the game. Corey Crawford was sensational, making arguably the greatest save I've seen considering the stage, Jonathan Toews came through (again) when his team needed him most, and Roberto Luongo finally made the one save he hadn't been able to make all these years. The last 2 games of this series epitomize what the NHL playoffs are all about. Both teams showed grit, determination and desire and neither one quit.

I'm truly happy for guys like Ryan Kesler, Alex Edler, Chris Higgins (who I thought was fantastic last night) and Alain Vigneault who showed alot of class by not making excuses for his team like Gillis and some Canucks fans did. He coached an excellent series and pushed all the right buttons.

As the fan of a team that has endured so much heartbreak over the years, I'm also happy for the Canucks fans. They've had their fair share of disappointments (like 1994) and it was nice to see such a passionate fan base finally rewarded, even though some of them will never be gracious winners or classy losers.

I think anybody who watched this series and doesn't give full marks to both these teams for giving us one of the most entertaining, epic 7 game series is a farce of a hockey fan. As a Hawks fan, I'm disappointed my team lost. As a hockey fan, I can't remember a series that had so much of what makes playoff hockey great.

I'll never forget the amazingly intense battles between Joanthan Toews and Ryan Kesler every single game, the coaching chess match between Coaches Q and V, Corey Crawford and Alex Edler's coming out parties as two young guys who were probably their respective team's series MVPs, and the incredible story of Roberto Luongo who showed astounding perseverance in the face of some of the most incredible pressure I've ever seen put on one player.

As per usual, with my team out, I will continue watching and cheering for a Canadian team to bring one home. It's been too long. That said, I look forward to the Hawks retooling and returning to the playoffs next season, with the hope that we may get another epic chapter in this incredible rivalry that has turned into one of the most intense match-ups in sports.

Good luck Canucks. Don't under-estimate the Preds like we did in round 1 last season.
I missed this post...........

You hit the nail on the head here in a lot of ways......

I am a tenatious Canuck's fan.........but I hope (unless I am ****** faceless) that I conduct myself professionally.

I said this right after game seven........If the Canuck's win the cup then the first thing they need to do is thank the HAWKS for a character building series win???
We owe the Hawks bigtime if we WIN THE FREAKIN CUP!!!!

Cheers andru......enjoy your summer

Amazing how much of a difference a potential Campbell trade would help this team. Here's is one possible roster the Hawks could put together this summer having removed Campbell's contract from the books:

This post has a rating of , which is below the default threshold.
cap estimates are $62 for next season.... I think.
4/29/2011 3:55 PM
yeah...I put together the above team using a cap of 60.9 million to he on the safe side. I'd love to watch a team like this but of course I'm not the one in charge lol
4/29/2011 7:13 PM
The new TV deal that totals $2B will help teams like the Hawks as that kind of revenue will keep the cap going up and up.
4/29/2011 10:46 PM
Moving "dead" franchises like Phoenix and Atlanta.....To "Canada" will up the cap too!!!!!

Quebec City, Winnipeg and a second franchise in the greater TORONTO area will increase the cap too!!!

Which team or team's will take CAMPBELL???

Campbell was one of your better player's in the playoff series against the Canuck's..........

I think you are stuck with CAMPBELL and his 'CONTRACT"
4/29/2011 10:59 PM
juskay the idea is that if the Hawks are willing to give a team a first round pick and/or a decent prospect (perhaps Brandon Pirri or Dylan Olsen) along with Campbell, perhaps there's a team that would take that deal.
