Sorry but I don't get how a hit like that can be considered clean?  Rome was rising UP has he delivered it!! That makes the target cleanly and directly the HEAD.  IF he had simply stayed low and put a shoulder into his chest..no problem.  BUT when you rise up as you deliver a hit, there is only ONE target.  This is the kind of hit the NHL should be trying to remove from their game.. Late and the target being the head..plain and simple.

Now I agree, how badly he was hurt shouldn't be a factor into it.  This is the NHL, so.......

man, all this attention on a suspension to a non-descript Canuck defenseman and an injury to a  Boston junk goal scorer.  ****** suspension, ****** injury.  Done. Its over, lets get on with the games.  Better Canuck defenseman comes in, more talented Bruins forward comes in.  Series gets closer.  We finally have a finals with drama.  I've been waiting for this for years.  If the drama scares away the general American public, then I say f*ck the general American public.  Go watch Rafael Nadal or Tiger Woods.  Leave this one to the real hockey fans.  Funny thing is, I thought the best hit of the night belonged to Tim Thomas.  I friggin howled at that one.  Memories of Billy Smith.  Loved that guy.  Luongo can suck my left *****.  "I used to try and hit like that when I was 9"?  Grow up and be a man 8uongo.  Vancouver f*cked up and left ******** "throw my teammates under the bus" 8uongo in too long.  Should have brought Schneider out to start the 3rd.  Don't friggin ask the guy what he wants to do Vigneault.  You're the coach, or are you?  If you're afraid of upsetting his fragile constinance, then you're in deep caca.

In case you haven't noticed, I'm sick of this bullshit "letsput hockey under the microscope because we're not sure we like the direction the game is taking"  If there was anything that had the smelly, stinky mark of as*hole Bettman on it, this is it.

...but GM is right.   There maybe only 3 players on each bench by the end of tonight.

unless your still watching hockey with rabbit ears....the hit was no where near his head....plus he was skating backwards

You know what part of the ANALysis always makes me laugh?  "He left his feet."

Two fuckin' guys run into each other at 20 miles per hour, they're gonna leave their feet.  I'm not sure, but I think that's science.

I expect to see the Canucks walking away from any Bruins garbage after the whistles, and their power play awaken tonight.

Well plain common sense here.   Rome is 6'1" and Horton is 6'2" (close in height)..you normally skate not standing straight up..so if Rome rises up while delivering the hit, his shoulder is going to be at the same height as Horton's head.

Replay clearly shows Rome's shoulder hitting Horton's head...right on the side of his head and he dropped like stone afterward...  Why should the direction of either skating matter..shoulder met head and it was a late hit.

Who said I was ever on the Canucks "nation" bandwagon?  I remember 2004 and Canucks "nation"s stalwart support of the Flames
