you can blame luongo if you want randle, but he stole three friggin games out of the seven.  the fact that the canucks only scored eight goals in seven games was the reason you lost.  your offense should be able to win at least one friggin' game for ya in a seven game series.  two of the four losses had nothing to do with luongo, but the guys in front of him.  one of those being the eight goal game.  the other being game seven.  thomas would have lost game seven for the canucks because they just didn't play like they wanted to win.  especially in their own zone.  you talk about luongo choking, well thomas let in five goals three times against tampa, and the only reason they won the series was because boston's offense was able to score six in one of those games.

and as for trading luongo, if the canucks did that, their window would be gone.  schneider can't step up and take the canucks to the stanley cup.  yeah he's played great as a backup to a vezina candidate in twenty to twenty-five regular season games, half of which were probably against bottom dwellers, but if he was actually given the starting role, it would likely take him two or three years to get him game on.  he will be a great starter, but i don't think it's right now.  and it may not even happen.  sometimes the potential never really shows up.  the canucks still have a great team and can still go for a cup right now, if they can fill their holes.  get a big center to play in front of the net, and either get some new d-men, or else get them to start playing like they want to win (i'm looking at you bieksa and salo!).  and IMO, in order to go to the cup again next year, they need luongo.  i don't think schneider can do it.  and he becomes an RFA at the end of the year and will want more money.  they have two options.  keep him around to appease the fans who have no faith in luongo and let someone give him an offer sheet next july taking a couple draft picks in return, or else they can trade him now and maybe get something that will give them that edge that they are lacking.  :>

I think the fact he won two games in the finals by scores of 1-0 say alot about Luongo. Who is going to have more pressure on them? The goalie leading 4-0 going into the 3rd or the goalie winning 1-0 going into the 3rd. Then again, losing 8-1 says a lot too so I can understand why everyone one wants to behead him. Even though Boston scored first in game 7, the Canucks were dominating the play and had every chance to tie it up or take the lead. Thomas just plain out played Luongo in the finals. I still have faith in this team. They're not going to be torn apart like Chicago was last year or like the Flyers a couple days ago. There is room for improvement but making Schneider the starter sets us back 2-3-4 more years IMO.

There was actually a minor uproar in these parts about that.  The "die-hards" were ******** about cheering for the hated Canucks's youngsters.  STFU and have fun for your $12 ticket.

I see Bieksa got 5yrs/$24M to sign.  I guess the price of ***** went way up since the end of the playoffs.

Is Muddy the only one other than myself that sees right thru Luongo as a choker?..sure the team couldnt beat Thomas but when you are hyped up to play a game and your star goalie lets in  2 or 3 easy goals to start every road game doesnt that deflate your team? i can only imagine  how the bench felt.. Luongo has had 3 years to up his game..he has failed every year,he cannot get it done..you guys are saying Schneider will set us back 2-3 years? what does Cory have to do? do you really think he wouldve been worse than Luongo was in Boston? .773 sav%.???.Cory actually stole a few games for us in his starts this year unlike Luongo..Crawford didnt set the Hawks back 2-3 years he outplayed Luongo..Howard didnt set the Wings back 2-3 years , the Hawk goalie now in SJ didnt set the Hawks back when they won the cup ,he also outplayed Luongo as a rookie..i dont get the infatuation with Luongo and everyone thinking Schneider will suck..i doubt he wouldve been worse than Luongo was this year..just dont get it ..numbers dont lie ..everybody look at the numbers..especially in elimination games that is the true test of a players mental make up

Only goalie Luongo out played in these playoffs was Niemi..sad for a guy making 10 million bucks..if we give Schneider 10 million will he also have this teflon shield surrounding him ?will he automatically be considered one of the games greats?
