they had a good day but so did a few other western teams - I thought colorado getting a goalie was big, dallas made some key pick ups, san jose got better as well.  

All the hawks did was hire a goon line (which they definitely could use).  Time will tell if it makes them better.  goons mean more PKs - I'm not sure they have the depth on D yet.   Still need that 2nd center.


Good day though - good short/smart contracts.

They did much more than just hire a goon line.  Give credit where it's due.  We will add another d-man and center somehow.  We still have almost 8M to spend and can swing a trade.

i didn't say they were done this offseason.... just that today they just added a goon line (and didn't give out bad contracts)  did I miss something today - like a top 4 defender or a top 6 forward being signed?

I know they have cap space and i'm sure they intend to use it - they just didnt use it today

If I'm the hawks - I trade some of those prospects (maybe a pick) for the rights to RFA  Yandle ($5.8 ballpark).  Sign him from PHX and you got:

Keith - Seabs
Yandle - Hammer
Monty - Leddy
SOD

Let Campoli go.  Stash Scott in the minors......  

 That would leave you with $1.8 mil left to re-sign Frolik and Stalberg.... actually upon review -   I don't know if you guys have as much money as you think you do.
