Which 3rd and 4th liners are you talking about? Torres is the only guy we lost that played any amount of games in the P/O's. Glass maybe had 15 minutes playing time the whole P/O's. Lapeirre is still with us, as is Higgins. Hanson is back. Who are we missing?

Actually, Glass played 20 games, with an average ice time of about 7:30 per game. Raffi Torres and Glass along with Christian Ehrhoff have not been replaced. Those are big losses to the Canucks depth. Hodgson and Tanev are pretty good prospects, but they don't come close to being good enough to replace those guys yet. They also still don't have bona fide top 6 wingers to play with Kesler. Raymond, Samuelsson and Hansen are nice players, but I don't see any of them as top 6 wingers on a consistent basis.

Interesting that the Hawks lack a second line center and the Canucks lack second line wingers. How good would a line of Kesler, Sharp and Hossa be? lol

If we get someone to take Ballard and Samuelsson.............I would target S WEBER??

We were first in goals scored??
We allowed the fewest goals against??

But we need that NUMBER ONE stud D-Man.........Enter S Weber??
Why do you need weber? I thought Bieksa was the greatest!!!

The only checking Ehrhoff did was the one he cashed from Buffalo. All Glass did was miss a wide open net for a game winning goal. Torres will be missed for sure. I think if you watched more Canuck game you would know that Tanev could be in the top 6. He's nothing flashy like Ehrhoff but much better defensively. I don't think we'll miss Ehrhoff that much. He's a great player but I would take Edler over him anyday.

I agree that I would take Edler over Ehrhoff, but to say the Canucks will not miss Christian Ehrhoff is just as blind as a Hawks fan saying last summer that they weren't gonna miss Dustin Byfuglien. You don't remove a defenseman who plays 24 mins/game and replace him with a 21-year-old in his second season without losing something.

Same thing with Torres and Glass...there really isn't anyone who can replace their physicality. Cody Hodgson is a good player, as is Jordan Schroeder, but they are not suited to fill that role on the team.

OK, yeah we will miss Ehrhoff, about as much as you guys will miss Campbell. Although Salo is not a high point guy he can step into Ehrhoffs spot pretty easily. Of course, thats if he can play a season without missing more then 20+ games. I already agreed we'll miss Torres but Glass is not hard to replace.  Oreskovich could replace Glass and he plays a physical game also.

I guess we'll see what happens during the summer. Gillis may address everything we've been talking about.

It's interesting that you draw the parallel between the Campbell and Ehrhoff losses, as both teams will use several players to try and replace them, and in both cases it will be a fix of veterans and youngsters. Tanev, Salo and Alberts will likely see increased ice-time in various situations as will Leddy, Montador and Campoli.

I dont think the Canucks need much ,im ok with Rome and Alberts ,Tanev, Salo, Bieksa and Edler Hamhuis..minor upgrade there ..another top 6 forward with some balls ,even if it takes trading Hodgson  and a big goon on the 4th line to take care of Eager, not so much Hordichuk, his day of scaring anybody are over..we just all need to hope Luongo tears his ACL in the off season..Schneider will be the man and wont collapse like teenage girl who didnt get invited to the prom in the cup finals..easy

Maybe a sign of  Schnieder deal coming up. If not he'll be good in Chicago.

You think they might be trying to do what the Habs did with Halak and eliminate the controversy by trading Schneider? What's interesting is that the goaltender trade market is probably at the worst it's been in 15 years.

Islanders and Devils could be in the market.

Indeed...There's also Jonathan Bernier/Jonathan Quick available. I think my order of preference if I were a GM would be Quick, Schneider, Bernier right now, although if I'm building for the future it would be Bernier, Schneider, Quick.

Why cant the Canucks just trade Luongo to Chicago or Calgary?  the player i hate the most in the NHL playing for one of my 2 most hated teams..makes perfect sense..having the biggest pos who ever graced a NHL jersey playing for my favorite team ?  ..just isnt right

Kind of how I feel about Carcillo, although we're not paying him 10 million.
