What is it with the Florida Vancouver trades.  Don't want to send players to a closer team.

Just caught wind of the trade now as  I am (down in Bellingham).  What a steal.  We add Booth for two guys who can not make this team and surely would have both been on waivers the minute M Raymond is ready to play.  On paper this is a STEAL.  WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

Booth, higgins ,Kesler..then Hodgson,Raymond, Hansen   ...nice 4 lines ...Schneider in net   winning combo

Do you guys know if Booth has ever really recovered from that wicked concussion? There may be more to this than meets the eye

maybe so Holer ,but that 3rd pick is still better than Sturm and Samuelson combined...it was painful watching Sturm play

Interesting how quick Canucks fans are to dismiss players...reminds me of some Hawks fans. Samuelsson actually has a higher PPG than BOTH the Sedins AND Ryan Kesler in the last 2 playoffs combined. He's a proven playoff performer who can still help a contending team as he ALWAYS picks up his game come playoff time, something the Canucks sorely lack. David Booth is a nice player when healthy, but is one hit away from a career-ending concussion and he has exactly 0 games of playoff experience.

I think the Canucks could have probably gotten Booth without giving up Samuelsson, which would have made for a better 2nd line and 3rd line (with Higgins, who is better suited there).

Any Canuck fan, and probably most Detroit fans, will tell you the frustration in watching Samuelsson play.  He can be great and score 30 goals, he can disappear, and he can look to be playing for the other team, all in the same period.  He is also still injured and appears to be having more troubles than expected recovering from surgery.

It's a gamble for sure for the Canucks, but there is way more of an upside for the canucks.  Gone are two 35 year olds strugling to make our top 12, that are easily replaced by Hodgson, Ebbett, and Raymond.  In return is a power forward with speed.  If Booth plays the way he did a couple seasons back and gels with Kesler you are looking at 2 bona-fide first lines for the Canucks.

Samuellsson is slow and old he couldnt keep up with Kesler or Hodgson, getting a guy that can skate like Kesler will make that 2nd line a real problem for teams , bring back Raymond and you probably have the fastest line in hockey..just Kesler and Raymond alone caused other teams headaches now throw in Booth..sky is the limit

but to all canucks fans cheering remember, booth only has 1 point in six game and a minus 6. plus he is injury proned to. and this could backfire for losing samuelson. all in all its a make or break situation for both teams.
